Description:

I adore the alphabet, typography and using letters/text in my various creative projects. I am hoping you so too.

Your assignment is to scour magazines, books, junk mail, cardboard boxes, packaging, and any other print material you can get your hands on for different types of letters. Cut out five of each letter of the alphabet. Please include a variety of materials, colors, sizes, and font types. It would be nice if you kept each letter separate in some way, but this is not a requirement.

A few extra requirements:

  • do not send newspaper letters because the paper is too thin and the ink smears easily
  • letters must be a minimum of 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch
  • do not send commercially made scrapbook letters or stickers
  • for continuity's sake please only send the standard English alphabet letters A-Z
  • do not send words, each letter should be cut individually
  • cut your letters out with straight edges leaving some border around them

Rate a 5 if your partner has sent you 5 of each letter of the alphabet that meet the above requirements.

International swap. You must have a 4.9 rating, no recent no-sends, and no shady activity to participate. I reserve the right to ban anyone I feel will not follow through, including people who only have ratings based on online swaps. I will angel if there are any flakers.

I just wanted to let you know that I LOVE this idea! I have two rather large private swaps due at this time and my daughter is graduating that week so I don't feel I can commit, but would be super interested in this swap if you do it again in the future!!

I found most of my letters in Lands End, LL Bean and J. Jill catalogs. I have a few Smithsonians to go through as well. "Q" is difficult to find...
