Description:

Hello! Come and learn some crochet with me! We will each have one partner and crochet a small item/project using this month's technique somewhere in the pattern.

POPCORN STITCH

Important to note: Beginning and seasoned crocheters are welcome to join!!! BUT please be sure before signing up that you are able to crochet the technique! The item you make and send is up to the sender so you can get started right away on your project to make sure you can do it. These are not all easy or beginning stitches, so please plan accordingly.

Any pattern and yarn are acceptable! Dishcloths, granny squares, scarfs, stuffies, ornaments, slippers, etc. The possibilities are endless. It would be great if you could send along the pattern you used as well, but this is optional.

(USA only please, feel free to create an international similar swap. Oldie swappers only. At least 4.9 rating or higher and 5 rated package swaps completed. You must have signed in to swap-bot at least 2 days before the sign up date. You must have already sent the previous swap in this series if you signed up.)

Here is a tutorial on the popcorn crochet stitch: http://www.allfreecrochet.com/Tutorials/How-to-Crochet-a-Popcorn-Stitch#

And/or watch this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2nDQCnTWuaA

Depending on the pattern, you may have slight variations (single, double, or treble crochet) on the popcorn stitch. Most patterns have the instructions for the stitch included in the pattern notes.

Upcoming stitches in the series:

Shell stitch

Slip stitch

Front (and/or back) post double crochet

X-stitch

V-stitch

and etc. (any more I come up with.)

The two tutorials you offer show different ways of making this stitch, and the results seem to look quite different. Both methods are okay for this swap?

Any method is okay for this swap. Just as long as the pattern states that it is a "popcorn stitch". Thanks for asking!

There are several variations on this stitch, so I have included different tutorials. Of course, check the pattern you have. It will usually have the instructions used in the project in the pattern notes.
