From the website: http://www.care2.com/greenliving/make-a-prayer-flag-how-to.html "Spring is here, and the winds of change are blowing; the sky fills with birds and returning life is everywhere. In this season of airy expansiveness and hope, we can send out our wishes for peace, healing, and harmony on the winds with a simple prayer flag, inspired by a traditional Tibetan Buddhist practice. HereΓ’β¬β’s how to make a prayer flag." For this swap, we will each make 4 prayer flags. I'm currently using tensile, which is sturdy wood base fabric that feels kind of like linen. I got a whole bolt of it at an estate sale. You can use cotton, old sheets, recycled jeans or any old clothes that aren't good enough for donation. Decorate them creatively...fabric paint, beads, buttons, stitching or ribbons. Since this is your 1st set let's make them on the small side... How about a 6"x6"? Let me know if you have a specific prayer or wish you'd like in your set. |
