My interests change often and I believe my profile should serve as a reflection. My hope is to inspire those who cross my path.
March 9th, 2012
It's been a while since I've updated my profile. I got off track for a bit as I'm recovering from 3 car accidents since June 2011....last year was tough, but I'm on the mend and keeping a positive outlook.
My goal is to only do one swap at a time as I am still dealing with a neck injury & unsure as to how I feel from day to day.
I signed up for a bunch of swaps while I was on painkillers (and didn't remember doing it!). I think I've taken care of everyone, but if you have not received goodies or a rating please let me know! I don't want to unintentionally flake on any of you fabulous Swappers!
I'm an undefinable artist constantly dabbling in different mediums. I am a constant Photographer, Writer, Actor... and I make art of all kinds (collage, painting, copper metal work and fiber art are among my favorite processes). I stumbled across Swap-bot when looking for ATC trades... I love trading art with people and can't wait to swap with you!
2 years ago I decided to make a go as a full-time artist. Prior to that I've had many interesting jobs such as: A radio personality, stage actress, film extra, circus ring-mistress, carnival barker, wedding planner, bartender, stand-up comic & cemetery plot sales...I've worked in art galleries, delivered singing telegrams, been a photographer for bands & musicians, written sketch comedy for TV, done catering & wrote commercials.
My life has been quite a trip so far!
I deeply appreciate handmade items... effort & risk taking is always admired!
I particularly love.....
Altered Matchboxes
Altered Books & Journals
Squid & Octopus themed art
Drawings, Photos & and anything from the "Arts & Crafts" movement (late 1800's to 1920's)
Celtic knot work designs
ATC's
I especially appreciate getting handmade cards
Bottle cap charms
Handmade charms or beads of any kind
Interesting handmade, dyed or painted papers
Handmade Emphera
I would appreciate any Godess figurines, carved or created out of wood, cloth, etc.
Day of the Dead themed art
Out in nature is where I love to be regardless of the weather...I'm usually focused on mountains or the sea. I love the forest & the deep blue
You can often catch me dancing barefoot under a full moon
Or
Searching for Squids, Jellyfish, Octopus or Snails...they fascinate and delight me
I love the colors purple & copper as well as earth tones
The smell of the forest and the ocean...I'm blessed to live where those smells mingle together
Handmade is always best, but there are some things that delight me or help me create...
I can't get enough Glitter glue/Stickles for the $1 bin at Micheal's or Joann Fabric!
Catholic Saint Medals, Keys, Brass charms and Sparkly trims make me happy
I enjoy trying flavored black tea (no Lipton, Dollar Store or herbals please)
Candies are okay: favorites include ginger, raspberry & dark chocolate (Licorice, wintergreen & fake grape flavors make me nauseous)
Rhinestone jewelery that you not longer love. It can be broken or have some stones missing. I use it in mixed media art projects!
I can always use Embroidery floss to stitch up more Prayer Flags
I LOVE Vintage Halloween or Day of the Dead ANYTHING!
Vintage anything! (As long as it doesn't smell like basement... my husband has a terrible mold allergy)
Glass, sparkly beads, gemstone, or metal beads (no plastic please)
I also like stuff that's just plain weird or Pop Culture (Like Magic 8 Balls or anything found at archiemcphee.com)
I've been with my amazing man since 1993, whom I call Husbang (he is also an incredible artist)... He loves wine, cheese, cooking, drawing, Sci-Fi, all types of music/movies & Me :-)
We have 2 teens: One boy 17 who is an aspiring writer, photographer and world traveler. He loves D & D, Zombies, movies, video games and anything Greek mythology, Sci-Fi or Geeky.
One Girl who is 14. She is a Gemini and adores Star Trek, Dr. Who, Wonder Woman, anything that sparkles, bangle bracelets, Goddesses, The Beatles, designing her own fashions (sketch, planning & construction) and journals
Plus 3 delightful cats :-)
We live happily in the beautiful Pacific Northwest of the USA.
Not a fan of most plastic stuff
Please no bath products other than Burt's Bees (I have very sensitive skin)
Licorice, wintergreen & fake grape flavors make me nauseous
Not into "cutsey" stuff (Disney, kittens or puppies send me running for the hills)
No religious items please (other than Catholic saint medals or Day of the Dead items)
