I came across some interesting information today while browsing for something else - which almost always happens, LOL! In this case it was regarding the Witch's Ladder. I thought it would be fun to have a swap where we can make a witch's ladder for our partners. Here is some info from good old Wikipedia: "A witch's ladder (also known as rope and feathers, witches' ladder, witches ladder, or witch ladder) is a fetish, in folk magic or witchcraft that is made from knotted cord or hair, that normally constitutes a spell. Charms are knotted or braided with specific magical intention into the cords. The number of knots and nature of charms varies with the intended effect (or "spell")" Elsewhere, I have read that it can also be used as a meditation or chanting aid, to assist with keeping count. So for this swap, you will craft a witch's ladder for your partner. Once you have joined, please post below if you want a specific intent knotted into it, or just a beautiful tool for you to use as you wish. Please feel free to be creative and don't just be confined to the use of feathers, as this site suggests. Make something beautiful and functional for your partner. Normal rules apply, and by the time this swap ends, a good few of us will be in possession of our anti-flaker voodoo dollies, so LOOK OUT WOULD-BE FLAKERS!!!! | |
