Description:

I am finishing up a great American Girl doll Advent calendar for a private swap and thought I would do a slightly simpler version for our group, For this swap make or buy your partner a small advent calendar (the felt ones from the dollar store are fine) and fill each of the 24 pockets with one accessory item that you have made or bought, things like, bracelets, stick on earrings, hair elastics, hairbands, bows, mittens, doll sized foods etc the ideas are simply endless... Please send your partner things you yourself would love to receive.
I hope you will join me! Long sign up by date and one month to mail!

This sounds like a lot of fun. I know how to make an advent calendar out of big match boxes glued together in 2 rows (across) of 12 (down) with a cardboard backing. That makes great 3 x 5 x 1 1/2" drawers to fill with all kinds of goodies. Don't know what I'll do with all those left over matches???? Can the accessory item be an item of clothing??

I found several websites that offer designs for advent calendars that might be suitable for this swap. I think my idea of the match boxes isn't going to work because they will be too big. http://mybabyfaves.blogspot.com/2010/11/craftastic-lazy-moms-diy-advent.html

Thank you so much for all of your great comments, I only suggested dollar store ones to keep the cost down you can make your own for sure, I am so excited! Lots to do!
