Description:

For this swap, make a colorful mini quilt for your partner. Example sizes would be from 6" x 6" to 15" x 15". And it doesn't have to be square, but you get the size idea. A quilt should be a top, batting, and backing. It is usually bound and finished with a small label or signed by the quilter. You can do a whole cloth design, applique, traditional piecing, embroidery, improvisational or wonky piecing, etc. They can be hand pieced, machine pieced, hand quilted, machine quilted or a combination.

Sender's choice, so here's your chance to try out a new technique, use up your scraps or buy a couple fat quarters you've been drooling over. You can start making your little quilt now and have it ready to go.

I will check for potential flakers so please don't join if you don't intend to make a quilt or if you don't have time to meet the deadline. There will be other mini swaps you can join when you have time. And as with all swaps, please thank your swap partner by rating. You guys know what it takes to finish a quilt, so please be courteous and thank/rate.

Google "Miniature Quilts" and check out the images for inspiration.

I haven't made a quilt before but it's been on my list of crafts to try and the idea of a miniature one is great. I don't know if I can join this swap though unless people don't mind receiving one from a newbie... maybe I could try making one before the signup deadline and join if it's actually good(!)

Laurania, look on the web for free mug rug patterns. It's basically a mini quilt and they are a good way to start because you don't need to invest a lot of time or supplies but you still learn the basic skills. :) I'd be happy to receive from a newbie. Swapping is a fabulous way to learn new skills, that's why I do it!

Give it a go Laurania; it's fun and there are wonderful tutorials all over the web.

Like Laurania, I haven't made a miniature quilt before although I have done some fabric wall hangings. Love those mug rugs, I've started making mine already. Won't be able to send anything out until next week at the earliest as am away over the weekend, but I assume that's fine as if we have until Sept 24th? By the way, I had a sneak look at Michele360's flickr site, absolutely adore your mini quilts!!!

I'm sorry to whomever was supposed to receive from @TimeFliies ( Jennifer DeSantis Frye ). I saw that she wasn't sending her swaps and contacted her to offer to bypass her (I was her sending partner) and send directly to her partner, but she assured me she'd get the swap done within a day or two. Obviously, she lied, and I was suckered into believing her.
