I am a internationally exhibited British artist. After completing a degree in Ceramics I now live and work in New England, USA (the irony has not escaped me - old England - New England). I work mainly in clay as a ceramicist with an emphasis on wood, salt and soda pieces firing. I often work with unusual objects to create bricolage jewelry that is both unique and unusual , and I stray into drawing and painting when the urge takes me.
This is just a little bit about me in case you were interested.... I need a good cup of coffee in the morning, strong and black, dark, rich, slightly spicy and acidic with a touch of iodine. I live with a Golden Retriever called Buzz who likes to try and lick my egg tempera paintings when I am not looking. I love the smell of wood smoke, Bombay Sapphire with tonic, and Hendricks with a slice of cucumber. I can cook a 3 course medieval gourmet meal for 20 using just a cauldron and a large frying pan. I can also bulls-eye ten rounds with a Glok at 25 feet. I am a total texture junkie and just have to touch stuff. What make my fingers tingle are bits of rusty metal, things that have had a past life, in fact the aesthetic of wabi-sabi pretty much sums it up. Ohh yeah, and I like to hit things with a hammer ....
I am a hoover for arts and crafts techniques. I love learning new stuff. Here are some of the things I love to do .... Ceramics/pottery, Portraiture in acrylic or Egg Tempera, Mixed media collage, on-glaze china painting, natural dying wool and silk, hand spinning on a Spinning wheel/drop spindle, Hand weaving and knotting, jewelry making, cold metal working , dichromic glass fusing, costuming and prop making, growing cactus (or is that cacti ?)
I also have chickens. They get up to all sorts. If you want to see the interesting lives of the Chicken Ladies, check out the Facebook page Canton Chicken Works The Ladies regularly post about how many eggs they have laid or if they have found worms to eat ...
Mustaches (without men), interesting paper, things that have had a past life, old maps, Steampunk, Zombies (when they a'rnt trying to eat me), Skulls - human and animal, Botanical drawings, Pretty shiny things, old knives, unusual spoons made from all kinds of materials, shells/sand dollars/seaweed/driftwood - stuff found on the beach, brown paper packages tied up in string ...... these are a few of my favorite things

Thank you so very much for angeling my Beginner's ATC Flower theme! I just love the ATC!! What a wonderful way to create the front. The cracks in the treatment really make it look so neat! Thanks again and Happy Spring!!
Your rating for Dear John is a riot! Love it thanks so much ; )
