I'm a college student from Michigan, studying K-12 art education.
I have a beautiful soon-to-be twelve year-old dog named May. She is the love of my life (sorry boyfriend :D). I also have a grumpy leopard gecko named Einstein, so named because he reminds me of a hermit genius. I still live with my parents for now, and so I also live with my brother and his ever-changing plethora of creatures. But I love it, except for some of the grosser insects. He's ten years-old and wants to be a botanist when he grows up, and he loves science, animals, exploring and video games. (I'm including this information because he enjoys swapping, too : ) )
I like drawing cartoons and making collages, writing narrative, poetry, fiction, singing, playing guitar, trying to teach myself other instruments, watching movies, baking, playing with watercolors, riding my bike and show-going. I like summer and eating and smashing the patriarchy.
Classic rock, indie, folk punk, mellow rock ballads and the odd 80's pop song. I also go through phases of classical music, opera and jazz. Right now, my favorite musicians are probably Rilo Kiley, Cat Stevens, Otis Redding and Zee Avi.
I just love books in general but my all-time favorites as of now: Augusten Burroughs, Sylvia Plath, Kurt Vonnegut, Daniel Clowes, Eve Ensler, Jonathan Safran-Foer, Keri Smith, Esther Pearl Watson, Alan Moore.
I also love Tank Girl and the poetry of Pablo Neruda and Rumi.
I love love love love zines. Any kind.
Indie rom coms, political documentaries (I'm very liberal), some stupid funny comedies, Asian horror movies, superhero movies, silent films-Buster Keaton! -Jean-Pierre Jeunet -Michel Gondry -John Hughes -Wes Anderson -Hayao Miyazaki
I also love My So-Called Life, Freaks and Geeks, Pushing Daisies and Parks and Recreation.
I do like some musicals, like Chicago and Phantom of the Opera. I don't like Rent.
