I am a student at a community college in Cupertino, CA. For now, I aspire to be a cinematographer, but I don't limit myself to one aspiration. Hmm what else? If I end up following the film student path then my vision is to heal people through socially conscious film and music. I want to tell the stories of those who've been hurt by social injustice and in the process, help them heal from it. Not only do I want to tell these stories, but also leave the audience with a lasting, uplifting feeling, rather than the fleeting, shallow sensations most mainstream films leave today. This will create a sense of safety and acceptance within a tight-knit community.
I'm happiest when I'm: with family, with friends, with both, traveling solo, traveling with friends, traveling with family, making music solo, making music with friends, eating good food, making good food, out in nature, appreciating/creating art.
Right now I've been listening to a lot of oldies mixed in with contemporary music that is heavily influence by oldies. I'm talking 50's-early 70's- mostly girl-groups. Think: The Ronettes.
All time favorites include: Elliott Smith, Beatles, The Zombies, Jeff Buckley, Nina Simone, Billie Holiday, Elizabeth Cotten, Mississippi John Hurt, Joanna Newsom, Mariee Sioux, Neutral Milk Hotel, Wolf Parade, Azure Ray, Buke & Gass, Debussy- you get the gist of it.
F.W. Murnau's Sunrise
Wow, well this is a tough one. This won't be very thorough, or complete.
Definitely a Kurosawa fan. Chinatown was really good. So was the Godfather 1-2. Oh yes, I am a Kubrick fan. Wild Strawberries. Persona. Coen Brothers. Cried like a baby when I saw Once Were Warriors. Vertigo. Joon-Ho Bong's Mother. Let the Right One In. Annie Hall.

Re the lyrics postcard swap, so I'm a complete newbie and not really sure what happens with the rating thing. The FAQ suggests the hearts are for when someone goes above and beyond the requirements of the swap, but really I suppose I have no idea how anyone would manage that with a post card. Plus I did love the postcard you sent. So I changed your rating to include a heart. :-)

Hey here is my comment for Read and comment on your Partners Profile.
I enjoyed looking at your pictures. I especially like the birdies in the sun kissing, that was very creative.
Wow! There is so much that goes into filming and creating a story for a movie. I would think that any new positive direction from the mainstream stuff would be good. Especially films that accurately reflect the truth of hardships that people go through.
I think its cool that you like oldies:-) And I will have to rent some of those movies that you mentioned:-) Have a great rest of the day!!!
Hugs, Vanessa
