I misplaced my mail key last weekend (March 20th) and I am unable to get mail from my box. I can still send my swaps on time but until the key is found or my landlord gets me a new one I am unable to check my mail. I'm very upset over this and hope it will be resolved quickly.
(April 7th update) My landlord has told me the USPS is supposed to be changing the locks but I don't have a set date on that. I was able to catch my mail man at the box and get all my mail from last week (52 cards!). All cards from that batch have been rated. Hopefully I will have a new key by the end of the week or I'll have to catch the mailman Saturday.
(April 13 update) Still no new key. I'm very frustrated. I was told by my landlord that it is the USPS dragging their feet. So, we are still waiting on a new mail key. I have been unable to get my mail since the 5th.
Hello, I'm Hannah. I'm from the city of Florence, Alabama but I'm now in the Mississippi Delta. I'm currently 24 and teach at an elementary school as a K-3rd Interventionist!
I have a fascination with cryptids. Bigfoot is by far my favorite. I also love alien stories and anything supernatural.
The town I grew up in is SUPER haunted. Living in the South in an area that has been home to Native Americans and Civil War events is a perfect recipe for quite a few spooks and specters. I grew up listening to ghost stories and reading books about haunted places in my home town. I love the supernatural.
Here's an article that barely even scratches the surface of the paranormal in my home town (and home region) - https://www.timesdaily.com/archives/shoals-offers-fair-share-of-eerie-places/article_90ad88a1-9f5d-506b-8bbf-715a4f4361b9.html
I started collecting postcards in 2016 and I am very fond of my collection. There is (*almost) no postcard that I don't welcome.
I WILL ADORE WHATEVER YOU SEND ME so really send whatever. I read and keep all cards I receive and I don't throw any away. I don't really get people who throw away cards because they aren't their favorite. If anyone ever wants to get rid of any postcards, used or unused, I'll gladly take them (and pay postage too!)
Cards on my 'Favorite Favorite List' are put in binders together. I call it my 'Favorite Favorite Binder'
Favorite Favorite List
Other cards I would love to receive...
*PLEASE no cards with real mice or rats on them - they are a fear of mine. Cartoony ones are fine but photographs or realistic drawings are a no go.
-I have started a stamp book so if you have any extra (used or unused) stamps laying around that you don't mind sending I'd love to add them to my book.
I love a lot of different types of music. My childhood was filled with the music of the British Invasion and Motown. My grandmother collects memorabilia from The Beatles. I think I get my collecting genes from her haha.
Some of my favorite musicians are Fall Out Boy, I Don't Know How But They Found Me, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, and The Brobecks.
I follow and listen to quite a few podcasts. My current following list on Spotify is:
I have a very weird thing where I don't like watching new movies or TV shows. I tend to be really apprehensive about what I watch. It's odd I know, but I still watch plenty of things.
My favorite movie (and book) is The Outsiders. I read/saw it in jr. high and I fell in love.
My favorite TV show is definitely The Office. It's a comfort show for me.
Other favorite movies: Twister, The Wizard of Oz, Lord of the Rings Trilogy, The Fantastic Mr. Fox, Hidden Figures, The Help, and Pride and Prejudice.
Other favorite TV shows: Great British Baking Show, MTV Catfish, Craig of the Creek, The Amazing World of Gumball, and The Golden Girls
I also love true crime documentaries and docu-series.
If you need ideas for what to send in a package/envelope swap - here are some things I like to buy for myself/get as gifts -
*Candles (no floral or garden-y scents please)
*Pottery, cross stitch, old candle holders, wicker, small paintings, wall hangings, thrifted oddities
*Things to do with otters or bees
*Completed cross stitch (especially vintage ones) (also I can't cross stitch so the kits to do it myself would not be used, that's why I ask for completed ones)
*Any postcards (literally any at all)
*Candy (favorite: JELLYBEANS)
Honestly, I'll love whatever is sent to me. Any questions, just message me!!
