Heado

I am an artist and I make handcrafted jack-in-the-box toys. I call them Pop Art Creations. I sculpt portrait heads with polymer clay from a couple of photographs, and can put ANYONE-in-the-box. The boxes are wooden and handpainted also.

I am married to a great fella named David. He is a videographer/editor/producer. And he helps me with Pop Art by building all my boxes and other drudge work.

Other than that, I LOVE music- I am a singer. I am into super funky, campy stuff- wild colors, glitter, irreverent takes on classic themes.

I really am obsessed with all things sparkly! Fine glitter, swarovski crystals, rhinestones.....

I also like skulls, and Day of the Dead stuff, and mexican folk art, and religious themes (any).

Weird/funny little toys are some of the biggest joys of my life!

My favorite color right now is orange. But it's even better when it is paired with hot pink/fuscia. My website is done in those colors. Other faves are purple and acid green. I've recently gotten into chocolate brown with any pastel. It looks kind of french to me for some reason. My glasses (I'm blind as a bat with out them) are green and black striped, big, chunky glasses.

I love red wine, Italy, italian food, and italian men (my hubby IS one). About the wine- I'm definitely NO expert. I buy it by the cute or funny or artistic labels. I like all kinds, just not the pink ones.

I'm a red-head and I'm Irish.

I have a big weakness for scented candles and reed diffusers. My favorite scents are honeysuckle, rose, clean/fresh smells, lavender, and ones that smell like men's cologne.

I'm learning to play the Ukulele which is so fun!

I am a HUGE Stevie Wonder fan. I also totally dig the Beatles, the Monkees, and Bob Marley. I love discovering new indie artists too. Otherwise, I like gospel, blues, reggae, and really intense acoustic singer/songwriters.

I watch way too much reality television, and particularly love the super-trashy annoying ones.

My idol is Lucille Ball, and I can't get enough I LOVE LUCY. Other old favs are Laverne and Shirley, Carol Burnett Show, Mary Tyler Moore, Alice (Mel's Diner), The Love Boat- oh lord, do I LOVE campy old tv shows!

My dad and my best friend are gay men, so gay pride stuff is awesome. I sort of grew up in the gay community.

My momma and my brother are both super amazing artists and I idolize both of them. My other brother is a Chef, so I like to visit him a lot. My mom has a huge and very valuable miniature book collection- she even wrote, illustrated, and published one of her own. So getting those, to pass on to her, is really neat.

I was born in Portland, but grew up near Baltimore. Now I live in Northern California.
