My swapping here is now occasional due to a busy schedule but I will join swaps from time to time that have a long time frame between sign-up and send. This balance may get better as time goes on - I miss doing more art right now but don't want to get overextended.

Reading is one of my favorite things to do ever since I learned how. I love mysteries, especially British ones. Also read some sci-fi, chick-lit, historical fiction & just plain fiction. I read whatever my mood dictates and lately I am on a YA dystopian kick and an occasional biography. And I love non-fiction animal books. I'm not into vampire, horror or paranormal books - that stuff creeps me out! And I can only take romance books (unless they're more chick-litty) in small doses (LOL). I am a member of bookcrossing (dancing-dog) and bookobsessed. I have an online wishlist I can point you to if you're interested!

I like a lot of different types of music - like classical, piano music of all sorts, Scott Joplin rags, 60's folk music, the Beatles, most rock, pop & jazz, mid-eastern, Spanish, Portuguese, Brazilian choro, Celtic, new-age, oldies. Not too crazy about most rap, hip-hop, opera, heavy metal or country but I try to be open-minded!

I love the original Mary Poppins and The Sound of Music. My favorite drama of all time is Schindler's List. I'm also a Disney & Pixar fan.

I almost hate to admit it but I like a lot of the crazy "reality" shows on now particularly those that involve self improvement or improving people's conditions. My current favorite is Mystery Diagnosis. And this is nerdy but I love game shows. I don't watch a lot of TV but when I do it may be an animal, home, garden, fashion, DIY, food show or possibly Cops or Forensic Files.

I like to do crafty stuff now and then and sometimes make book strings. I also play around with making jewelry. I enjoy making ATCs and appreciate anything I can use to make them. It takes me a while to get into a craft - I have tried matchboxes and whimsey jars and do keep my eye out for something new to try once in a while. Looking forward to trying flip books or zines soon. And on my bucket list is taking classes on drawing, painting with water colors and pottery.

I recently retired and enjoying having more free time. I love animals. I volunteer at an equine therapy center (the horses are amazing) and am also part of the cleaning crew at a cat rescue once a week. I have two German Shepherd mixes (rescues) and walk and play with them all the time. I try to do some art, reading and gardening in my spare time. I've just started taking yoga and am enjoying it. I also love to travel and wish I had more time and money to see the world. :=D

I love: Food: almost anything but nothing too spicy and please, no raisins. Love most coffees including flavored coffees & cappuccino-type mixes. Love most teas although I prefer black teas over green or herbal. Love fruity teas. Don't like licorice/anise tea or anything heavily cinnamon. I also love hot cider and hot chocolate.

Candy: love anything chocolate. Fond of tropical fruit flavored Lifesavers. Don't care for gummy or sour candies.

Colors: blues and greens and I favor cool colors over hot.

Girly stuff: light flowery scents but nothing too fruity, charm or beaded bracelets, kind of have an obsession with lip gloss. Have pierced ears & like small, delicate-looking earrings.

Playthings: hmmm... like jigsaw puzzles when in the mood, trivia games but can never get anyone to play with me, crossword puzzles, word games.

Other:
Would love to receive art pens, sharpies, fancy brads, pretty papers, unusual looking ribbons, embellishments to use on ATCs, stickers, small pieces of fabric, double-sided craft tape, washi tape, ATC blanks & backs, address labels. Pretty much anything you send I can find a use for.

I like things with flowers and/or dragonflies, garden or nature themes, dog-related items, dance-related items, handmade bookmarks, fun socks and miniature sizes of things (not dollhouse stuff, just little things).

Do not like: super glittery, blingy stuff (a little goes a long way with me), blood, guts & gory stuff, neon colors.
