Wife and mother of 2. Daughter is 11 and son is 19 and might possibly be the death of me. I am an avid crafter. Scrapbooking has been my mainstay for the past decade or two but I have branched off.
I love all things vintage right now. I opened two shops on etsy about 3 years ago and sell some of the vintage items that I can part with. One shop is more vintage jewelry and other misc. items and the other shop is all sewing notions. I am somewhat of a freak when it comes to vintage buttons. I find it hard to sell them so I end up hoarding most of them because you know you will have a use for them later right?
I am an estate and yard sale junky. I also work full time so I do all this in small bits and pieces :)
I was an avid swapper at one time on scrapbook.com but life got really busy and scrapbooking fell to the side. I am using my same screen name.
I don't have many dislikes the few things I can think of off the top of my head right now are:
Anything Minty, Satin Ribbon, Tea
I also love to cook and have just started to transfer my favorite recipes to recipe cards. I have found some fun ones on etsy. I love make ahead meals, easy to fix, freezer meals but yet like to dabble in gourmet from time to time.
I like a wide variety of music. My family is very music oriented. My husband and my son both play the drums. Some of the genres I enjoy are:
Reggae, Alternate Rock, Alternative Metal, Classic Rock, Heavy Metal, Indie Rock, Prog Rock, Prog Metal, Mild Screamo, Hard Rock, Some Rap and Hip Hop, R & B, Big Band, Jazz, Calypso, Classical, Fusion Jazz, Soul, Latin, Orchestra, Swing, Symphony, Slack Key Guitar and pretty much anything that came out of the 80's
There are only a few I don't really care for:
Country (but there is some I can tolerate), Disco, Elevator Music and Folk Music
I am more into altered art now but I am still a scrapbooker. Most of my scrapbooking now days are small albums. I love doing word albums. I did two that were my kids names not too long ago as a gift to my husband and he adores them.
I love to buy vintage jewelry from estate sales, thrift stores, and auctions. Sometimes not everything is in usable shape so I take those pieces and set them side. They get used for the altered art. I am getting ready to do my first picture frame and I can't wait to get started.
I enjoy doing ATC's since they are so small and so personal. I like to find vintage ephemera for those. Sometimes I like to buy the German scraps (found a couple excellent sites recently), download vintage images and print them or use vintage greeting cards.
Some of my favorite imagery I like to work with are birds, mushrooms, trees, music, victorian men and women, 1930's - 1950's greeting card imagery, knomes, any vintage holiday imagery. I can't think right now so I will have to come back with more later.
One supply I can never have enough glue dots (where do they all go?) also ink blending supplies...the little cotton squares that attach to the tim holtz tools or sponges and let's face it can anyone ever have enough glitter...I say NO! Jolee stickers are some of my favorites. They are high quality dimensional....so many to choose from.
I love using any vintage imagery, lace, ric rac and seam binding in my projects. I love to use stamps and alcohol inks (Tim Holtz is my hero). I love learning new techniques.
If you are somewhere that sells Aero Chocolate Bars and you send me one I will be your best friend for life. I can't get them here and have had them several times when in Canada. I absolutely love them....the plain milk chocolate ones :)
I love milk chocolate, not the waxy cheap kind though, chocolate covered gummy bears, caramels, toffee, cookies, marshmellow peeps at Easter time. I love to try new candy that we can't get here in the states.
I am not a big fan of white chocolate, sour things or hard candies.
