I composed a profile as a true newbie which a couple friendly fellow swappers let me know didn't give them much to go on with swaps--oops! So I'm reworking to include some likes and wishes :).
In a nutshell, I'm happily married for 9 years, have 2 darling kiddos (son is 8 and daughter is 5), and love animals (we have a dog, cat, fish and frogs), reading, photography, running, penpalling, and writing. Not super crafty, but swapbot may change that. I'll always send my swaps and always rate (but sometimes I have a bunch coming in at once, so please refer to the swap :)! ).
Love the classics, and rank Les Miserables, Jude the Obscure, David Copperfield and Pride and Prejudice among my favorites, but I read Charles Dickens, John Irving, James Joyce, Jane Austen and Shakespeare's plays over and over again. If you're ever at a loss for what to say on a pc, I'd love to know what book you're enjoying. As Abraham Lincoln said,"my best friend is someone who gives me a book I have not read."
Nearly everything! Especially Led Zeppelin, Grateful Dead, Rolling Stones, Radiohead, U2, Stevie Nicks, Jeff Buckley, the Beatles, Prince, the Smiths, James Taylor, Norah Jones, Steely Dan, Paul Simon, Annie Lennox, Talking Heads, Susan Boyle, Nina Simone--I could go on for days about musical artists.
Comedies mostly, like Something About Mary, Dumb and Dumber (dumb but so quotable), Meet the Parents, Caddyshack; Animated ones like Over the Hedge, Surfs Up, Ice Age; Others faves are documentaries, Shawshank Redemption, Count of Monte Cristo, Pride and Prejudice, BBC Dickens series
I try to limit myself (easy with how many sports the boys watch), but I like edgy and/or sarcastic (but only if it's on TV!). I like Dexter, Office (both US and UK), (now defunct) Arrested Development, Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Another cute show is Drop Dead Diva.
Postcards (artsy, retro and landscape/seascape especially); Stamps of the world; My collections: postcards, stamps, rocks (heart-shaped especially), bottlecaps; Repurposed cards and envies; Handmade is great!; Charitable groups and people; Nature and sports-related things; Love Celtic crosses (but not much else overtly religious, unless I'm in a specific swap); Photographs; Beer mats or postcards; Lions and big cats; Dala horses; Adore art and science museums; Monkeys (my kids are wild for monkeys, horses, cats and lambs); Love all colors, especially yellow, purple, blue and green (bright greens like lime or grass); Rubber stamps; Cute Sanrio stuff (especially Chococat and Chi Chai Monchan--again the kids will snitch it :) ); Poetry and peaceful words; Anything Beatles or John Lennon related; Language! Love to learn about your language and culture (or beautiful landmarks iike churches, bridges, rivers, islands); Love funny, positive, creative people
Out of focus photos; Dog-eared or dirty postcards; Smoky smelling swaps; Don't like the hi/bye pcs nearly as much as those with a little note and a little life; Snakes (I'm really phobic); Anything I can't share with my kids. Other than that it's fair game!
