I'm a stay at home mom with a 5 year old daughter. Kaitlyn Joy (means "Pure Joy") is my miracle baby. After two years and seven months trying to conceive I did IVF with ICSI and eight months later (on Christmas Eve) I had a baby girl. I've now had three failed IVFs and one FET.
I love most colors, but found myself turned off by some orange placemats I saw in a swap recently. Yuck! My favorite colors are: tea green (most any green for that matter), red, pink, purple, and blue (aqua and teal). I have found myself drawn to yellow recently, but I really don't look good wearing it. I like the contrast of blue and brown together.
My daughter is a girly girl all thanks to me. =) I dress her in ruffles and bows. Sewing has become my new passion. I have sewn my daughter several outfits and of course make matching hair bows to go with them. I've been trying to appliqué', but still have some work to do in that area. I'm always game to try a new craft, but I don't always master them. I taught myself to knit, but find crocheting to be much faster and more forgiving when a string is pulled or a needle removed.
• Chewy Sweettarts - in both the little balls and bigger disks. Yum!
• Aprons!
• Nice dishtowels in sage green, plum or aqua blue. Why after five years of marriage do I still have the cheap 5 for $5 ones from Walmart???
• Cotton Fabric.
• Handmade purses and totes.
• Handmade homey touches like coasters, floral wall hangings, simple paintings and so forth.
• Inexpensive necklaces and earrings. Yes, I’m cheap in this area.
• Soaps! I almost forgot I love buying body wash from Bath And Body Works. However I'm not a lotion girl.
• Flowering plants, I love watching my hard work bloom and grow. When all else fails I can simply prove to the rest of my family that yes we can keep a plant alive.
• Bees, except live ones. =)
• Christmas ornaments and decor
• Gerber Daisies! I love their vibrant colors and how big the buds are.
• Petunias, because they grow like crazy and put on a great show. They got me nominated for “Yard of the Monthâ€.
• Gardening ~ sometimes. Hehehe…
I'm sure there are several more random likes, but this is all I can think of right now.
When I find a book I like I usually start reading all the books by that author. Some of my favorite authors are: Francine Rivers, Beverly Lewis (what is it that draws me to Amish books??), and Karen Kingsbury.
Being a Texan I of course LOVE Mexican food. Seafood is okay unless it's shrimp then I will eat until I burst. I love brisket!!! I can eat my mom's brisket any day.
I have a sweet tooth that doesn't stop. I may be odd on this one, but I can't handle plain chocolate and dark chocolate is a big NO. However I really like white chocolate. I love chewy candy, not to be confused with "gummy" candy. I eat ice cream, but would pass it over for a good piece of cake with butter cream or cream cheese icing any day.
My daughter is my life so she deserves her own section. Kaitlyn is a typical girl who likes:
• Planes – she’s an Air Force kid.
• Teddy bears which honestly consists of anything fluffy and stuffed that looks like a real animal.
• Dogs, cats, birds
•Coloring and drawling
• School... the child loves going to school. She has gone to preschool since she was three and just graduated from her final year of preschool
• She loves her LeapPad!
• Barbie doll clothes - handmade
• Living Room ~ tan, coffee bean brown, and teal blue.
• Kitchen ~ sage green and plum.
• Master Bedroom ~ browns, burgundy, cream
• Daughter's room ~ Bright colors! Pinks, blues, and yellows. She has butterflies hanging from her sealing and flowers painted on her walls.
• Master Bathroom ~ burgundy and honey with plumb accents. • Daughter’s Bathroom ~ pale yellow, lavender, and pale pink • Half bath ~ pale aqua accents in a white and gray (slight green tint) bathroom.

I see you haven't been on in a while, but I was wondering if you are in Guam now? I'll probably be moving to Saipan in July. I'm giggling about the comment that Guam might capsize with all the troops coming in--even though I know what he really meant. :)
Hi Jenark! I just noticed that you responded to my comment on the zipper pouch and candy swap! I'm too scared to cut zippers down!! I still consider myself a sewing novice but maybe one day I will try it! I do have a 22 inch zipper in my stash (what possessed me to buy it is beyond me! oh wait, I think it was on sale! LOL) I'm a SAHM too with a 19 month old daughter! Lisa
