What's New in my Zoo

1/21/2013, on a personal crusade to get this stupid Essure crap taken off the market. My SB detective days are limited. :(

12/27/2013, having some lady parts removed and have spotty internet where I am.

Ladies, if you are considering having Essure done for sterilization, please, please, please, research it first.

About Me

So why have I been around for years but don't have that many ratings??? It's because I rarely swap anymore since moving to a 12 mile long island in the middle of the Pacific. I'd rather get a tooth pulled most of the time then go to the Post Office here and stand in line for an hour. Literally.

In the event that you get me for a partner, here is a little information about my location. Saipan is a U.S. Commonwealth--like Puerto Rico. It is not Spain--or even remotely near Spain. I am of the opinion that a person working at the counter at the post office should have a pretty good grip on world geography. However, if you encounter one who appears to have slept through that class, or perhaps the last 20 years of their career, I have a solution. The worker can eliminate a lot of needless and painful confusion on their own part by simply typing the zip code into their computer. Magically, the prices to send mail here will appear, thus avoiding the hassel of attempting to figure out where the Northern Marianas are. The prices are the same as sending domestic mail within the States.

Occasionally a brain dead postal employee will absolutely refuse to believe in the existance of Saipan--even though it played a pivatol role in WWII--and send the package to Spain. The two are not even remotely close or even similar.

Once, I tried saying we were "down by the Philippines." Blank stare. "Guam?" Blank stare. "Ummmm Austrialia??" Slightly less blank. Sheesh.

If you are curious, here I am!

Swap-Botty Stuff

I'm inspired by those nutty rambling "stream of consciousness-type" profiles...

I hoard craft supplies. My favorite color is cranberry. I am too busy and too disorganized these days to craft but I still obsess over patterns, digital downloads, beads, real wool felt, thrift store treasures, etc. Maybe I will start again soon. That would mean I would have to find my fabric scissors though. I have two little girl monkeys. They love kawaii and bling. They like getting postcards sent to their attention. The 8 year-old would like a penpal. She also loves to draw, so I am looking for Kid's drawing books. I am a Texan. "Once a Texan always a Texan." Don't mess with us--especially you flaker types. Non-raters & catfishes too! You mess with the bull, you get the horn. Remember that. I speak Spanglish which does me absolutely no good living on a tiny isla where they speak Tagalog, Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese, Korean, Chamorro & Carolinian. I hate liver. I don't like Steely Dan or Neil Young. I don't really like orange. Don't send me anything involving any of these things--ever. You will not get a heart--ever--if you do.

Seriously, why do people put things like "I hate liver" on their profiles? "You will not get a heart if you send me blah, blah."

Comment: Yay, washi tapes! Looks like I accidentally had one I already had on my wishlist, but it's one of my favorites and I was starting to run low, so all the better to have more now. Thanks for doing this swap with me!
Response: Glad it made it there. I was a little worried that the seller would send it here & that would delay it a good month!! Thanks again!

Comment: Thank you so very much for this swap. love the native dolls and I really enjoyed the stories...i love mysteries! you have really expanded my world :) :)
Response: Ohh, this is the island of mysteries alright. :) One big mystery is just how did that package get to you so fast (and in one piece I am presuming!)? I also feel bad that the "snackies" I had planned to send to your little one didn't get in there. Anyway, thanks for the swap and I hope you're having a Happy Mother's Day!

Oh, you know... same old, same old. New flakers and old multiprofilers here in SB Land. But all is well in my part of the world. Glad to see you're still alive. :D

Oh my goodness! Congrats...? I'm thrilled about my surgery and I know you wanted to fix the Essure problems, but are you happy about it all? Did they do it laproscopically? Mine was; just 3 little scars. :) Thanks for the Happy New Year wishes!

Thank you for your sweet note. Yes we are doing better, job, cars, house, now I need to get it all unpacked and put away. I hope you have a wonderful New Year's.

AynE on Dec 30, 2013:

Thank you for your sweet note on my profile. Things are getting better. My husband has a new job, we are moved into a new house in Ruston Washington. We are off the island, that alone is cause for celebration. Remote, arctic island life is not a beach, it is more of a b**ch. (I didn't say that). I know where there are 2 Michael's, a Joann Fabrics and a Hobby Lobby. As soon as I get my crafts supplies unpacked, I do aim to misbehave a whole bunch. I have been crafting and swapping a little but I cannot wait to just dive in. Who knows, I may bathe in glue and roll myself in glitter just for the....no...my joy and exuberance does have a limit. But, yes, after two years of chaos and catastrophe, 2014 is going to be a year of sheer boredom and bliss. I am looking forward to it.
