Hello. I stumbled upon Swap-bot when looking for quilting swaps this past weekend, and am intrigued! There are several swaps going on that look right up my alley.
I am a sewist - I love both vintage and modern fabric and notions. I've made many quilts, doll items, bags, home décor, but am just starting dressmaking. I like many styles, but would say "traditional" is probably not for me. I am drawn to things that are unique, edgy, bold, artistic, highly styled - things that make a statement. This can also be things that are sweet, romantic, or natural. I'm most drawn to color and/or pattern, but have widely varied tastes. I like both things that are dark/mysterious and things that are joyful or sweet, both simple/plain and complex, both solids in a particularly beautiful hue or patterns. I guess in other words, I'm pretty easy to please.
I'm also a gardener - I love outdoor plants of all kinds (not houseplants) and for the past few years have had a large garden dedicated just for cutting so I can have fresh flowers in vases all summer long.
I have scrapbooked in the past, but am not currently working on any. I do love paper crafts though and sometimes do other types of this - also other textile crafts other than sewing.
The easiest way to see what sorts of things I like is probably just to peruse my Pinterest boards, linked above.
I don't watch a ton of television, but here are a few series I've enjoyed over the last few years: True Detective, Orphan Black, Dead to Me, Game of Thrones, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Killing Eve, Glow, Sherlock, West World, The Great British Baking Show, The Great Interior Design Show
My very favorite postcards are art postcards. These are the ones I will keep and hang on my wall. If I ever tire of them, they will be repurposed into birthday cards or gift tags or something like that, rather than tossed. All other kinds of postcards are also just fine - really anything - as the most fun part is reading your message on the back. I love to get them. These types I usually keep in my wall-hanging card holder for 1-2 months and then they get recycled as new cards move in.
