About Me

I'm a grandma of twin boys that just turned 1 year old - Liam and Dylan. They live close by and I get to see them often. I have lived in Northern Illinois all of my life. My town is about 50 miles west of Chicago, along the banks of the Fox River. I live with my husband and two cats, Marcus and Chloe who were rescued from the shelter. I'm also a musician. I play the piano and I teach beginners and intermediates.
Now that warm weather has finally come to these parts, I'll be playing golf.

Favorite Crafts

.My favorite crafts are sewing,( window treatments for my home,) faux painting decorating, wallpapering, quilting, rubber stamping, making ATC's and crotcheting,and counted cross stitch.

Favorite Books

I think of myself as an avid reader. I usually have two books going- one fiction and the other non-fiction. My Favorite Books are: Journey of Souls, Jane Eyre, The Shack, The Kite Runner, Crashing Through to name a few. I like Katherine Harrison, Amy Tan, Isabel Allende, Arturo Perez-Reverte and John Grisham.

Favorite Movies

Favorite Movies: Dancing with Wolves, Out of Africa, Born Free, Slumdog Millionaire, Big, SeaBiscuit, I like foreign flicks alot too. Amelie,

Favorite Music

Favorite Music: Clasical, especially Mozart and Vivaldi. classical rock, classical guitar, and most anything on piano. I love oldies - 50's and 60's too.

Likes/ dislikes

I love anything about nature. I especially love bird watching+. I like to garden with my husband who does alot more than I do in this area. My favorite colors are green and blue.

Comment: Thanks again for another fun afternoon. Too bad it was chilly with the wind blowing at the flea market. Love the cards — I have got to try embossing — it makes everything so much more elegant! And the lighthouse you colored is beautiful, too. The ATCs are cute, even if you couldn't find a photo of Micky! Maybe I'll use some of my new scrapbooking supplies to get motivated for the next swap! Looking forward to getting together to craft in December. Have a fun and safe trip!

Comment: Thanks for a great afternoon! Your ATCs are wonderful, as always! I really love the daisies; it would make a beautiful full-size painting. The beach scene makes me want to get away on vacation, and I want to try fabric and nail polish techniques next time I make an ATC. I will try to come up with a theme for the next swap in the next couple of weeks and give us plenty of time to create. What do you think of doing a "Crop Til U Drop" session on a Saturday, maybe in July? I don't know if I could make it until midnight, but I know I could get a lot done if I spent one whole day working. And I'm sure we could leave earlier if we really wanted to. $25 seems like a good price with food and drinks included (except lunch). Or we could just spend $15 in merchandise and crop for free for a few hours on a Saturday or Sunday. (Which might actually be better for our first time out.) We'll talk about it more once I set up the swap. Great to see you. Hope things get better for all of us!

Comment: Sky on fire, was not the ATC I was expecting. It was almost certainly 1000 times better than the ATC I was expecting and I love it very much, its gone with my collection of element themed cards and stands out among them proudly. Thank you very much!

Comment: Thank you for the Postcard! St. Charles looks like a cute little town. I reminds me of the little town I used to live in Arizona, called Prescott. It was about 90 miles north of Phoenix.

Comment: Hi Kath, I can just barely make out the 9/9 (vbut that was what was most important) and so this deserves a "heart!" I really like the Nassau PC. I went here with my mother in 1985, but I don't know if I actually have a PC. I did get a patch to sew on my case, but now I have a card -- Thank You!
