Hello from Wisconsin! We are known for beer & brats, cheese in every variety, the Green Bay Packers, the WI Badgers, country music festivals, WI Dells, farming, and Friday night fish fries. I live in a small town near the state line between WI and IL. I retired from teaching last year after 33 years dedicated to students with special needs. In late summer of 2014, we got the devastating news that my DH of 28 yrs had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. I lost him on Easter Sunday. To cope with the grief and loneliness, I renewed my love for crafting and it has been good therapy for me. I have a grown daughter, Heather, age 25, with no grands in sight. Some of my favorites are: pink, doing DIY projects around the house, paper crafting, baking, gardening, thrifting, reading, and spending time with my pets. I love social media, esp Pinterest, YouTube, and Instagram .

I enjoy talking, listening, and writing about books and authors. I'm excited to follow the launch of the Great American Read by PBS that has formulated a list of the top 100 favorite novels. It's fun to hear what other people are reading, so I thought the Bookworm/Penpal swap would be that perfect opportunity. I have a pretty wide range of interests. I like both fiction and non-fiction, but mostly read fiction. My favorite genre is historical fiction, with these titles in my favorites list: Gone With the Wind (Margaret Mitchell) Little Women(Louisa May Alcott) To Kill a Mockingbird (Harper Lee) My Antonia (Willa Cather) The Hiding Place (Corrie Ten Boom) I also love mysteries/thrillers, and biographies/memoirs. Recently started journaling about reading. I like to collect book quotes. I'll read a print book, e-books, or audio-books. I like to listen to podcasts that talk about books/authors. I'm the nerd that watches C-span Book T.V. (sshhhh)🤓 and I recently discovered Book Tube. Wow, I have a long list of TBRs!
