About Me

Good day art friends, I began doing paper crafting about 18 years ago when it was all the rage. I began doing scrapbooking pages for my children's memories, leading to card making, Stampin Up and a true addiction to ATC's. I love mixed media, collage, rolos, inchies, twinchies and anything to get my fingers sticky and dirty. I belong to a few swap groups.

I have been married 31 years, we have 2 adult children. My daughter is married to a wonderful man, they both thankfully live nearby and both of them work in the city of Chicago. My son is a former Special Operation Marine USMC Raider, he is now attending college at UNC Wilmington, NC. and plans to graduate in May 2021.

I am an Information Technician working with the Barrington School District , Barrington, Illinois. I try to incorporate creativity into my work day if it is at all possible. My husband is an architectural woodworker and is gifted with a lathe. He creates remarkable pieces.

I am also a watercolor artist. I belong to 3 Urban Sketching groups Nationally. We paint what we see on location, it is great fun. I love to paint the homes of my friends and present them as gifts.

I love to read books, I read between 40-60 books a year. I'm a big fan of historic fiction, war nonfiction and biographies.

You can find me on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. We have a summer place and I'm often there all summer creating swap pieces or watercolor painting.

I have tattoos. One tattoo that I am really proud of is on my top left foot edge, it reads "Una Vita Artistica" in Italian (An Artistic Life) so when I am toe tagged the technician will know just how I spent my life, with beautiful colors, creativity and creative people.

My favorite holiday is Halloween, 4th of July is a close second. I love doing swaps with holiday themes.

I enjoy cooking and experimenting with different cooking techniques, and grilling food.

My favorite colors are green, teal and red. I incorporate a lot of pin up gals in my work, gosh I hope that is vintage. I love lots and lots of color and detail, I don't know when to stop, you will see my layers upon layers when we swap. If you see leaves on the artwork, it is most likely mine.

Thank you for reading all this info. It is nice to get to know each other. Salute.

Comment: Hi Liz! This G45 circus ATC is GREAT. I didn't even know G45 had a circus-themed collection ;+) Love the clowns and that roaring lion--even the elephants on the back of the card are cute! Thanks so much, Liz; hope we're partnered again soon.

Comment: Oh Liz this is another fantastic swap from you! You managed to find so many great images and assemble them to make such perfect composition. Love the colors, the old calendar, the black and white border. It's just wonderful! And thank you also for the great extras - where did you find the vintage papers? I really like them. Thank you for another absolutely divine swap!!
Response: Coming from you Laurie, that means so much. I had a great time creating these Journal Cards. I found fashion images on Google and the background papers were from the date logs my dad and I found in the Catlow Theater in Barrington when I was a child. We found the box behind the screen on the stage and it had movie logs from 1923-1963 when my Dad bought it from Wright Catlow. It was such a great find and I could look at them for hours. I took 1926 to a color copier and replicated them. I'm glad I could send some your way.

Comment: Wow wee wow Liz! Your valentine dress is exquisite. It’s so pretty, so feminine, and so very “valentine-y”. I love all the colors you chose, and the swirly gemstones really add to the beauty of your presentation. I have it on display in my dining room next to some other valentines. Thank you so much for the extras, just a perfect little collection of things that will find a home in my craft room.

Comment: Hi Liz! What a fun and endearing deer ATC! I simply love those mid-century illustrations. I just love the lines in your piece, making it look as though it's been painted on a piece of vintage wood. I also love that sweet, tiny red Dresden trim and the way you 'mounted' the card with lots of layers. Beautiful work; it's such a pleasure to receive swaps from you!
Response: Thank you Kristy, happy holidays.

Comment: Lizzie! Thank you, thank you for the adorable ATC Coin ornaments! It really is Christmas time because one coin is perfection but two coins is even better! They look great on my Christmas tree and I love the style of the images too. And thanks for the sweet collection of extras, so inspirational. Stay safe and to answer your envelope question: Starbucks ;) peppermint mocha please
Response: Thank you Connie, I had so much fun creating the coins, I couldn't stop. I'm more of a Pumpkin Spice gal, but I'll have to try Peppermint mocha. Have a wonderful Christmas.

Comment: Hi Liz and thank you for the cute little Santa ATC, mid century style. My parents built a home in Indianapolis in 1960/61 that was and still is mid-century modern, so I have always loved this era as well. It has a very distinctive vibe, and you carried it out perfectly in your ATC. Traditional Christmas colors and love the little touches of bling that you added. And thank you so much for the extra goodies - they shall not go to waste! Thanks for swapping!
