Hi! I am a California native, a graphic designer for a company that caters to non-profits (it's a dream-job, they pay me to do what I love!), and a mom to 2 stunningly handsome and multi-talented grown boys (20 and 23). I live on the coast and love jumping in the ocean, lying in the sun, and riding my bike along the beach bike path.
In my spare time I love being creative by making collages, drawing, calligraphy, stamping and painting. Lately I've been making portrait collages/tag paper dolls for gifts for family and friends. I just finished a drawing (portrait) class and have enrolled in a collage class.
My favorite colors are bright, vivid, rich, lush. No pastels or neutrals for me! I love anything vintage, especially from the 50's and 60's. I also like ultra feminine girly stuff.
I like country music (sorry!) and cowboys and horses. I like to ride my bike or take a stroll around town. I go to the library a lot and read all the time. My favorite authors are Margaret Atwood, T.C. Boyle, Ann Tyler, Michael Kun. For something to think about, I'm reading the Power of Now. I like movies that make you feel good, like Little Miss Sunshine and Monsoon Wedding, also old black and whites, documentaries and film noirs. I like going to art shows and museums but don't do it enough (maybe now I will!).
Bicycles, fruit, lime green and turquoise, paper dolls, shopping, long Hair, a bit of glitter, fringe or lace in art, ponies (when I was growing up, my dad ran a business taking pictures of kids on ponies - western attire and all), vintage Barbie and other dolls, dashboard hula girls, black and white or 50's color photos. I like pictures and text from old books, magazines and advertisements. Scrabble,Crosswords, board games.
I love getting art that tells me a little about you! I know what my favorite things are, I'd rather find out what yours are! So don't feel it's necessary to include something from my profile, I'm open to your interests! I may be wrong here, but I rate art and give hearts according to the thought, effort, neatness, and, yes, talent and style that go into a piece, not by how much it is to my "likes" or by the little gifts/extras that are added in the package.
The following comments are how I feel about art that I create, not about what you should make for me (see above) I don't really like cute cartoon or realistic animal images on their own, even though I do love animals. I don't really like nature scenes without something else, though I do love nature! I love my living space and my office to be totally uncluttered and sparse but love chaos in art. I really, really hate housework and am a terrible cook, but am drawn to domestic scenes/objects in art. I like custom digital art and often create pieces this way, but I don't like new, common, mass produced scrapbook supply stuff much. Go figure, hunh?
I do like dark, senseless or quirky humor. I love words or phrases on art. I like silly stuff. My favorite pictures are of people... any kind, ordinary (even seemingly mundane) to fantasy.

Thanks for introducing me to swap-bot and also being the most creative and prettiest aunt a girl could have!
Hi there! Forgot to mention that you have the neatest handwriting! It's a very cool morning here in FL (currently 58... brrr). Hope yours is warmer! Take care, Cindy
The Saramago book about the record keeper... it is "All the Names," one of my all time favorite reads :-) Thank you again for the fabulous B is for Broccoli postcard. Cool that we have so much in common!
