What shall I tell you about me?! I love postcards and handpicked stories. Surprise me with a little anecdote of the everyday life. Combined with a picture on the back and a stunning stamp up in the right corner. Sounds perfect to me!
No anecdote?! Well here are some ideas: What‘s the craziest thing you‘ve done for love? What are your favorite shoes? How would you describe your victory dance? If you could have a superpower just for today, what would it be? What is your simplest pleasure? What would the first line of your biography/autobiography be?... Any questions? Ask me.
By the way I love everything from before the 1960s. I am always on the hunt for vintage curiosities like snapshots of everyday life, newspaper comic strips, popular science charts, as well as fashion magazines with stunning adverts, matchbox labels or cigarette cards and stamps. Oh and I am fan of gentlemen in suits, cocktails and pin ups, which make me smile.
Whatelse?! If there is time I dive into books. How to describe my taste? Imagine Iona Grey meets Erich Kästner for a coffee and from time to time people like Rachel Rhys or Naomi Wood joining the conversation about the roaring 20s and WW2. Sometimes I just buy a book, because of the great cover. Oh and I have a weak spot for magazines. I definitely cant leave the newsagent without buying the latest issue of Monocle, Popshot Quarterly and Harper’s Bazaar.
Another thing I really enjoy is going to the cinema. You wonder what I have seen recently? The White Crow, Little Women...Favorite movies?! Breakfast at Tiffany's, It's a wonderful Life, Mary Poppins...a bit newer...Life of Walter Mitty, The Age of Adaline, Brooklyn and Rocketman.
Well, I hope I could give you a foggy hint about myself. I am looking forward to hearing from you and even more to getting to know you. Smiles, Joana
PS.: Still unsure what to send? Well here are some more hints: espresso with a dash of hot milk - cherry or apple crumble - tomato sauce with meatballs - sparkling wine & French Martini - washi tape - ephemera - maps - fashion & design - George Barbier & La Vie Parisienne - naughty Pin Up & Burlesque - movie stars from back in the days & handsome gentlemen - risque racy humor - surprises.
P.P.S.: At this point I should admit a few DISLIKES: touristic postcards or Zazzle & brownish faked retro postcards please not for me. I am not interested in Disney, Hello Kitty, Zentagle or Color-In, religious or spooky themes. Oh and I don't need scrapbooking & craft supplies. Sorry, I dont want to sound complaining.
