What shall I tell you about me?! I love postcards and handpicked stories. Surprise me with a little anecdote of the everyday life. Combined with a picture on the back and a stunning stamp up in the right corner. Sounds perfect to me!
By the way I love everything from before the 1960s. I am always on the hunt for vintage curiosities like snapshots of everyday life, newspaper comic strips, popular science charts, as well as fashion magazines with stunning adverts, matchbox labels or cigarette cards and stamps. Oh and I am fan of gentlemen in suits, cocktails and pin ups, which make me smile.
At this point I have to admit a few DISLIKES: touristic postcards really not my taste - Zazzle & brownish Cieher retro postcards - Disney - Hello Kitty - Zentagle or Color-In - religious or spooky themes - scrapbooking & craft supplies - please not for me. Sorry, I dont want to sound complaining.
Whatelse?! If there is time I dive into books. How to describe my taste? Imagine Iona Grey meets Erich Kästner for a coffee and from time to time people like Rachel Rhys or Naomi Wood joining the conversation about the roaring 20s and WW2. Sometimes I just buy a book, because of the great cover. Oh and I have a weak spot for magazines. I definitely cant leave the newsagent without buying the latest issue of The Economist 1843 and Novum (Design).
Another thing I really enjoy is going to the cinema. You wonder what I have seen recently? Blinded by the Light, Downton Abbey...Favorite movies?! Breakfast at Tiffany's, It's a wonderful Life, Mary Poppins...a bit newer...Life of Walter Mitty, The Age of Adaline, The Aftermath and Rocketman.
Well, I hope I could give you a foggy hint about myself. I am looking forward to hearing from you and even more to getting to know you. Smiles, Joana
PS.: Still unsure what to send? Well here are some more hints: espresso with a dash of hot milk - cherry or apple pie - tomato sauce - washi tape - ephemera - Fashion & Design - book & magazine covers (Vanity Fair, New Yorker, Vogue, Penguin) - vintage natural science - Alfons Mucha & Art Deco - naughty Pin Up - risque racy humor - surprises.
