Born and raised in Germany, I moved to Leeds in the UK 8 years ago. Although being told I would only last 6 months I'm still here and going stronger than ever.
I work in the legal profession and live with my boyfriend and our adorable Husky.
I don't have anything specific - I tend to just go through my boyfriend's CD collection and every so often I find something I really really love. For example Cold Chisel, XTC, Divinyls, People Tree, Joss Stone...I could go on forever...it always depends on my mood really.
My favourite book is Shadow in the Winds. Absolutely loved it and even bought the audio book. Apparently there are three more books in the series by the author but they are not yet translated from spanish I believe!
I also like the odd historical novel but for now I have discovered classic children reads for me! Not having grown up in the UK I didn't know about The Wind in the Willows - and that is what I'm reading at the moment!
I'm not really into TV and try not to get "sucked in" as my boyfriend calls it. I do have to admit to quite enjoying The Time Team though. I also watch "Tatort" which is a (by now) kult series in Germany.
Oh dear - this is the difficult one!
What you mean favourite crafts??? Are there any crafts not to be liked? I will try pretty much everything and sometimes really have to stop myself.
I do like making my own birthday and christmas cards for that personal touch. I knit a little - although mainly small things like little toys and most recently this was a little bunny in a pink dress for a friend's baby girl. I would like to do much more knitting but somehow I often just don't have the time. I just knit myself some wrist warmers (and am now making some for a friend as a present) and I also have a cardigan sort of top on the go. I have also tried to teach myself to crochet - so far I've not been very successful and can only make granny squares.
I tried my luck at sewing and even though I love the idea of making my own clothes or things for the home, I just don't seem to have the patience for it!
Other than that I really enjoy cooking for friends and bake. I must have more baking books than is probably healthy but I love them all. I particularly enjoy seasonal baking and I'm already planning what biscuits I'll be making for Christmas. Instead of gifts that people often don't use and keep in the back of the cupboards so they can get it out if I happen to come to visit, I much prefer to bake lots of biscuits and wrap them in pretty biscuit boxes - they've always gone down very well so far....
I just love my dog. She is nearly 20 months old and is a Husky. She helps me to keep my weight down (what with all that baking!) and we go running together.
I love my family and friends - they are all stars and I don't spend near enough time with them!!!
I have a nice little stash of wool, fabric and other bits and pieces of craft material. I tend to keep little bits in old coffee jars. I like colourful things and don't really have a favourite colour. I go through phases. At the moment thats orange, greens, teal. Although Christmas 2008 will be a traditional red and white one for me.
