May 17- Almost two months since I updated my profile in relations to COVID-19. I am grateful that God has blessed my family and I thus far through these times that we are experiencing. I hope all that are reading this is well and are staying safe. Do what you can to protect yourself and your family.
I had slowed down on swaps and if you read further you’ll find out why. There’s certain swaps that I normally participate in that I had stopped participating in completely. I do miss those swaps, especially ATC swaps. I decided to continue with my favorite swaps, but proceed with caution just like with everything else.
I have been working from home and in the process I had to make some changes to my office, which I also craft in. I decided to have a specific spot for incoming swap mail. It will go in a designated spot for 24-48 hrs and then I will open, rate, and then put it where it belongs. I’ve been doing this for 2 months now for the swaps I have participated in and I haven’t missed on rating anyone. Also, mail have been a little slow coming and going in my area.
For the people that put the name of the swap and their swap-bot name on the outside of the envelope, I’ve been letting them know that I have received the swap and will further rate or comment on it after I open it.
Just an FYI- I do keep hand sanitizer, wipes, and paper towels in my office/craft space to use while I’m working.
March 26- I hope all are healthy and are staying safe. It’s sad that I have to be including this in my swap profile for now. However, if you have any type of symptoms whether it’s allergies, a cold or whatever please just let me know. We can easily come to an agreement for a much later time for you to send your swap. I won’t mind at all. You would need to be concerned about getting better anyway. I’m not trying to be funny or mean but I’m just trying to keep my family safe. My husband does have underlying health conditions. So we are trying everything we can to stay healthy.
The swap-bot community has been great and my experience has been awesome! I’ve met some wonderful people on here. I do think about you and hope that everyone is safe and healthy.
I will fulfill the swaps that I’m in right now and then will probably take a break. I have slowed down a lot since all of this has happened. I’ve been picking and choosing but now I feel a need to just halt altogether just for right now.
I will still be creating. I’m on my third journal now. I’ve been doing a lot of fussy cutting and working from home.
If you need anything please let me know. I have scrap paper that can be used for junk journaling or ATC. You might run out of paint or something...I might have it. So let me know.
We can always do a Skype or Zoom or something and create together virtually. That will help get your mind off of things for a period of time.
Just take care and be safe!
Hi! I am a Technologist who love art. I have done other swaps which includes swapping internationally. Swaps are fun and exciting. I love the thrill of not knowing exactly what I will receive from my swap partner. Swaps allows me to see how creative other people are and to see their interpretation of a theme. There are always a great variety of ideas. Receiving from others not only give swappers a chance to add variety to their collection but it gives an opportunity to add more create ideas to the repertoire of ideas in their creative brain.
Colors that I like are Shades of Brown, Turquoise, Purple, Red, and Black. There are a combination of colors that like together like pink and brown. Well that one had to grow on me. At first I couldn’t believe people were putting pink and brown together. Then I got over it.
I love Butterflies, they are my favorite insects. They are so beautiful to me. When I think of butterflies 🦋 I think about quietness and peacefulness. Serenity.
If I had a pet I would prefer a dog over a cat. When I was a child I loved cats but not so much now. I’ll put it this way I wouldn’t have one for a pet. I don’t rate down or not give a heart if I receive something with a cat or cats on it. That’s okay, it’s not like someone is sending me one to have as a pet. 🙀
I love creating ATCs and I have created and swap artist trading coins also. I've been exploring creating tags of various sizes. I have received some fabulous ones when swapping. My goal is to make stashes of ATCs and tags with messages on it to pass out to people.
I like mixed media journaling and creating my own journals. Most times I give away the journal after I finish making it. Journaling is a great way to express yourself, whether it's through the writing of words or drawing. That is why I like to create them to share with people.
I love different style of pens and journals. I also love different styles and texture paper like lokta paper. I believe I am addicted to washi tape and different adhesives.
I have recently (12/18) gotten me a brand new sewing machine that I have not taken out of the box yet. I got a great deal on it. I do plan to put it to use. I just have to start building up my sewing 🧵 collection. Sewing was my passion as a child. I use to make clothes. When I went off to college I didn’t make time for it that much. Years after college I got married and moved and after I moved many miles from my hometown I found another home for my machine. Then I had children and didn’t find the time for sewing. So now many moons later, my children are teens and give me a little more freedom...lol... I am excited that I have another sewing machine in my life. Now I have to figure out what’s the first thing I’m going to make. 🧐🥰
Update concerning the sewing machine: I made my sister-in-law a black skirt. I also had to adjust the pattern size to make it a good fit for her. She loved it and received complements on her skirt.
I have been using my machine to do stitching on craft/art items.
I like variety and what’s made from the heart.
No food items please or scented things...allergies. No Hello Kitty, Harry Potter, Cartoon Stuff(it’s complicated...lol because I do like the Peanuts Characters...Charle Brown and the gang and Betty Boop).
No gothic, darkness, pagan, and creepy stuff.
Thanks so much!
I really don’t have a favorite television show that I must watch. I do like watching British shows. We have the Herbie collection, which is fun to pull out and watch. I enjoy watching Mr. Bean. He is funny to me. 🤪🤓
If you don't receive a swap from PLEASE let me know, I will resend or try fix the problem. I’m not responsible for what happens after I drop it off at the post office, but I will resend if necessary.
My goal is to send out swap items before the deadline. Majority of the time I try to send the swap as soon as I find out who my person is. When I decide to join a swap I make sure I have the items already available. Then when I find out who I’m sending to I check their profile so I can tailor the swap item to what the person like and don’t like if it’s a profile related swap. Even if it’s not a profile base swap I still like to check a person’s profile so that I won’t send them something that’s on their dislike list. Now if the swap says to put it in an envie or pack it and seal it before finding out who your partner is then I absolutely will not check profiles then.🧐😀
If there’s ever a question about anything please contact me. I didn’t join Swap-bot to make other people’s lives miserable by joining swaps and not sending the required items. Swap-bot isn’t my first go around of doing swaps. I’ve been swapping with another online group for over a year and I still swap with them with no problems. I’ve done US and international swaps with them.
When I came across Swap-bot I thought it would be a great opportunity to expand a little bit, meet other creators, and get ideas from other creators. I consider myself a fair and understanding person. I don’t mind working through situations with people and I would like for others to do the same.
Variety is the spice of life. 💫🏷📬🧩🎯🐚👡🧵🧥👀👅
I love homemade envelopes! But there's one problem...When I receive them it's hard for me to use them. The purpose of receiving them and exchanging them in swaps is to use them, correct? SMH. Well, I just got a new idea...maybe I should use them to make envelope flipbooks. That way they just won't get marked up, mailed, and tossed to the side once they have been ripped open and all the contents taken out.
I just came up with a great idea for all the used envelopes that I kept from swaps. I'm thinking about turning them into a junk journal. Hmm! Just know that if you sent me a swap in an envelope that you made or decorated, it just didn't get trashed. I also recycle the yellow envelopes that people send swaps in.
