I am originally from New Orleans, where me and my family lived for more than 40 years. I was a manufacturing jeweler by trade and had a small jewelry shop in downtown New Orleans until hurricane Katrina hit and changed our lives. We have since re-located to northern Arizona where my wife, two sons and I are enjoying and adjusting to our new life.
I enjoy painting in acrylics and watercolor..though I've had no formal training...I just find it fun and relaxing. Prior to Katrina, I was making a line of abstract metal sculptures, vibrantly painted in acrylic and mounted on driftwood, collected from the shores of the Mississippi river. Some of my work can be seen in my shop on etsy: ABSTRACTCREATIONS.etsy.com. Some prvious ATC's I've made can also be seen on my Flickr page...just to to Flickr.com....Au-Master.
I am also an amateur photographer who likes to hike on the trails and in the canyons of our area, photographing whatever catches my eye. Textures, shapes and colors have always been a major influence in my jewelry designs and I find that this carrys over into my photography as well.
Anything originally handmade...abstracts, collages, recycled art, pottery, textile art, contemporary jewelry.Really anything that is creative and imaginitive. It's all art!
To relax, I like to read novels...James Lee Burke and Tony Hillerman are favorites....visit our local museum, ( Northern Arizona Museum of Art ), where there's a fantastic permanent display of Native American art (rugs, pottery, textiles, jewelry, etc.)...visit Coconino Community Center for the Arts, where many local amateur and professional artists have the opportunity to show their work...watch CNN,( I'm a news junkie)... enjoy old classic movies.

Hi Don, I have uploaded the image of the ATC you sent me from the "Outside the Box" Swap. Please view that galery.
I really love it. It suits my tastes perfectly. I'd like your permission to add it to my website, crediting you as the artist, of course! Cheers, and many thanks. Art2Wist Cheryl Poulin
