Software instructor in graphic design and digital publishing, lots of traveling and training. I spend time outdoors walking my dog and harvesting herbs in my community garden plot. I'm a "Foodie" who likes exotic ingredients and creative recipes, and prefers savory over sweets. I especially appreciate receiving something from your local area that can't be found anywhere else... even as simple as a postcard.
VERY IMPORTANT that you DON'T go out shopping to get anything special to send in the swap. I'm interested in seeing things from your stash, and sharing the fabrics that you have collected and enjoyed.
No cable, and not much time for network tv. Watching Hulu and Crackle online to fit movies into my schedule.
Rotary-cut and speed-pieced quilting, fabrics I am using are strictly 100% cotton for quilting. My projects usually have strong graphic shapes rather than fussy details, no embroidery or applique for me.
cutesy/girly, flowery/lacy, pastels, licensed cartoon characters
I prefer savory/salty over sweet. I enjoy nuts and dark chocolate or milk chocolate, but no white chocolate please. Orange is my favorite color and flavor, along with any other citrus like lemon, lime, grapefruit, etc. I don't drink coffee, and don't like any of the licorice / anise / fennel types of flavors.
BATIKS! I love batik fabrics, can't get enough of that hand-dyed look.Salt-dye fabrics are my favorite variety.
I like strong bold colors and graphic patterns. Especially like spots and polka dots, particularly dotted swiss (new or vintage).
I think that Asian fabrics are beautiful, especially any with metallic accents.
Currently collecting 6" bird charms to make an attic window quilt. I'm always collecting fussy-cut picture fabric charms to make I-Spy quilts, dark or black backgrounds especially appreciated.
Did I mention that I like BATIKS?!
