About Me

Currently I'm a SAHM but I'm an archaeologist by training. I'm married (10 years this summer!) and have a 6-year old daughter, a 3-year old son, and I'm expecting #3 after Christmas.

DUE TO THE PREGNANCY, I'M BEHIND ON A SWAP AGAIN (Mother Nature Dotee). I'm almost done with all of the swaps I'd signed up for and will be taking a break after that. Your patience and understanding is appreciated!

IMPORTANT!!!!

We are a non-smoking home but do have three small dogs. I do my best to keep my crafts dog-free but sensitive individuals might want to be careful about swapping with me.

Favorite Crafts

KNITTING, CROCHETING, rigid heddle weaving, tatting, embroidery, counted cross stitch, sewing, jewelry making, beading, paper crafts - new crafts are always nice! I like projects that utilize recycling, using up scraps, and thrift store materials.

Favorite Color

My favorite color is blue but I'm also pretty partial to blue's closest neighbors, green and purple. Oh, and greys can be nice, especially if they are blue-ish greys.

Like & Dislikes

  1. I'm finding it hard to talk about myself.

  2. I love handmade, homemade, or whatever you want to call it.

  3. I like natural textures over industrial ones.

  4. I like silver/pewter over gold and copper over brass.

  5. I prefer light fragrances or none at all. Herbal scents are better than floral scents. I do really like cucumber, pear, lime, grapefruit, and green tea but that is certainly not an exhaustive list.

Favorite Music

I'm up for about anything. Except bagpipes. And yodeling. And not so much on the New Age mood music.

Comment: Thank you so much for the dotee...she might look a bit Hawiian...but there's nothing wrong with that! The chocolate is such a treat for me, something I rarely but on my budget(I spend it all on postage) and the beads have already been broken into as they are just perfect for the Autumn dotee I was working on :) Thanks again....she was worth the wait.

Comment: The knitted in the round washcloth is simply gorgeous, and I'm going to have to make one! Tulip lace most definitely counts as flowers, very pretty! The extra cotton ball, well, I can never not use yarn. Thanks!
Response: I'm glad you like them! Yeah, the round one intimidated me at first too, but I considered it a personal challenge and forged ahead. I plan to make more of those!

Response: That chocolate takes me back to my high school days when my German teacher would allow us to earn them with extra credit points. I hadn't had one in years and was suprised to find them in my dinky little town! Thank for the heart!

Response: I'm so glad you enjoyed the package! I went out on a limb a bit with the tatted bits but hoped you could ue them. I've heard of crazy quilters using them so I thought I'd send them along. They were new patterns to me but ones I plan to do again! (I messed up and missed swap #5 but am now signed up already for #6!)

Response: I hope the Dorothy references weren't too vague. I got mixed reviews from friends who saw her about whether it was obvious who she was meant to be. I do hope you like her!

Thanks for the nice comments! I use a mix of things to dye cotton with... easter egg dyes (I've actually had good results with it!), commercial cotton dyes, natural dyes, etc. I'll look for you on Ravelry (I'm spinknitup).
