Hello swappers! I have been falling behind on things lately and am feeling terrible about it. I'm looking for volunteers who are willing to host a round or two of the friendship quilt swaps. It's really not fair to the good swappers for the series to end to quickly nor for me to keep hosting when I've fallen behind in my comittments.
I'm committed to making good on the swaps I've been assigned partners to even if it takes a little while. Flaking is just not cool and I refuse to flake. Better late than never!! I appreciate those who have fairly rated me with 1's and hope they'll consider updating when I get their swaps to them. Afterall, even the best of us stumble sometimes and it's better to get back up and keep going than sit down and cry and do nothing about it! Thank you for understanding and happy swapping!!
Latest fiction reads: Secret Life of Bees, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil & Harry Potter
I love scanning the library shelves for how to books on crafting, sewing, gardening, renovating, creating of any kind.
Sense and Sensibility, Notting Hill, Bridget Jones, Without a Paddle, Hot Fuzz
Indigo Girls are a long time favorite of mine. Inspiring music.
A Cappella! I sang it in college and love it to this day. Vocal Percussion is a specialty of mine :)
Married twenty something mother to an infant boy.
I love all fiber arts! I trend towards machine quilting, crazy/abstract quilting, knit/crochet and combining lots of little bits of yarn'n'strips of fabrics to make wild and colorful fabrics that are full of texture!
Jewel tones. Rich colors and textures. Mmmmm red. But I truthfully love all colors!
Fabrics of many kinds! Stripes, florals, velvets.
chunky yarns, glitz, fuzzy n fun!
"Beeeeads! Pretty pretty pretty!"- GusGus, Cinderella
Fast projects for a busy woman!
Collecting pink fabrics for my niece's quilt and blues for a boy-ish quilt for my son.
Washed out country style. Florescents are a little creepy. I don't care what people say about the 80's coming back. Maybe in an inspiring artful context someone could change my mind.
Scrapbooking (I don't have the patience...I'm all digital!)
Plaid. Can't get into it.
super fine yarns (unless there are several strands together!)
Loooong involved projects that result in lots of U.F.O's kicking around the house. Quilt squares being the exception, of course. They are like little tiney milestones in their own right :)
I recently became the owner of a huge amount of old books (as much as a hundred years old), ephemera (plates and advertizements of every subject I can think of)and old (a couple or few decades) crafting booklets. I saved them from a really cool used book store that was going out of business (boo) and was litterally dumping armloads of these things into my bags as two men came along after me dumping what I didn't take into huge trash barrels. I almost cried.
I can use some of it, but am looking for homes for the rest! I would love to swap some for fabrics, beads and sewing supplies.
Please message me if you would be interested in a private swap! I've already sent out a bunch of newbie swaps and am just waiting for my first ratings.
FletcherzMom's Store has the greatest custom jewelry. And her Murano glass is more reasonably priced than in Murano. (Trust me, I've been there!) http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=6452440
