Greetings from Auckland in New Zealand! I am soon to be 50 years old (a milestone, yes, but one i'm having trouble getting my head around!) and married to Barry for 14 years. Second marriage for us both. Barry is retired and I am working as a legal secretary at a nearby law firm, about 10 minutes by car from home. It's a medium size firm with 13 staff in all, all women!! I have had penpals since I was a child - a wonderful hobby which my mother and i share, she having introduced me to it when i was about 8 or 9 years old. i still write to a couple of friends from way back then, both from USA! I also love music, movies, reading (esp murder mysteries), animals, many forms of motorsport but especially dirt track, and watching rugby and rugby league!

My music likes are varied but especially from the 70s!! Favourites include Elton John, Fleetwood Mac, Olivia Newton John, Shania Twain, Celine Dion, Donny Osmond (loved him for 35 years!), Queen, Paul McCartney and many more!!

I enjoy crime thrillers - some favourite authors include David Baldacci, Jeffrey Deaver, Patricia Cornwell, Kathy Reichs, James Patterson, Stephen Booth, Tami Hoag, Karin Slaughter, etc.

Well, as you can imagine by the books i like, I also enjoy many of the crime/murder shows as well. Favourites are the original CSI, also CSI New York and the British series Midsomer Murders. Also enjoy many of the old British comedies from the 70s - Are You Being Served, The Good Life, Dad's Army, To the Manor Born, etc. Have a weakness for Survivor, and i also enjoy The Amazing Race but that's it as far as reality TV goes. Definitely do NOT like all those weight loss shows . . .

I am a semi serious stamp collector; also love anything with cats or dogs on, stickers, stationery, fridge magnets - anything that's small enough to include in an envelope!! I used to collect phonecards and have quite a large number of cards from New Zealand, Australia, Switzerland, Italy and one or two other countries that I am happy to send in quantities of 10 or so in exchange for something else, maybe stamps or stationery.
