My name is Jacki and happy to swap with you!
I live in Michigan. I am a lifelong learner and work in education. Autumn is my favorite time of year. I value kindness, diversity, equality, justice, the earth, animals, and good books. I enjoy time with friends and family, but also need alone silent time every day for sanity. I am trying to simplify and adopt a more minimalist approach but find it most challenging in terms of fabric and swapping supplies!
I enjoy making decorated envies and putting together little packages and RAKs. I’m not super crafty, but will try paper crafts now and then.
I love to sew and make pillowcases, place mats, table runners, quilts, bags - no clothing. Message me if interested in a private swap for handmade items. If you know a good sewing based group to join, let me know!
Leafy things - leaf theme or made from leaves, all colors not just autumn. Do not care for realistic images of leaves.
Cute bicycle themed items, bikes with flowers (my journal theme)
A sample of your handmade art/craft --- anything knit, crochet, embroidery, tatting, sewing, quilting, paint, watercolor, drawing, zentangle, felt, pottery, clay, beaded, wood, glass, etc.
Tea (sealed). Black, green, matcha, or spiced. Do not care for herbal, fruity, or rooibos. My current fav is Numi English Breakfast Blend. Would love you forever if you sent Qualitea Earl Grey (Sri Lanka) or Keisarin Morsian (Finland).
Envelopes - especially if made of paper with interesting texture like vellum, translucent, crinkly, or onion skin paper
Letter from you with no obligation to write back - write about anything, no topic off-limits (even politics/religion).
Any little unique item that supports independent or local shops
Bags in all shapes and sizes - tote bags, small bags, pouches, etc. Not a fan of those with store names/logos on them. Love handmade!
Lidded boxes and containers in all sizes or materials except plastic
Soft ankle socks or fuzzy no-slip socks - I wear them every day in the house
Sewing notions that you use and recommend, sewing machine needles (Schmetz size 90/14)
Premium quality cotton fabric (no Joanne Fabrics, Walmart, or other discount fabrics - although Hobby Lobby is ok). See my Etsy fabric list for ideas of my style. Fat quarter, half yard, yard -- any size will do!
Non-touristy items from anywhere outside of US - things with writing in language other than English - things from middle eastern countries especially welcome. No plastic souvenirs.
Candles or wax melts (fav scents: jasmine, lilac, cinnamon, sandlewood, earthy, clean, lemon)
Your recipes for tried-and-true organic, natural, homemade cleaning or beauty products - stuff you know works
Lip balm (do not care for Eos brand that comes in the ball shape)
Vicks Inhalers - I use those little inhaler sticks to pep me up during the work day or anytime I need a lift
Items that land in my recycling bin are childish, Disney, fantasy, mythical, celebrities, fandom, fashion, sports, religious theme (angels, Bible verses, goddesses, tarot cards, astrology, etc).
Unless specified in the swap description, please do not send traveling items (friendship books, slams), random scraps of paper, memo sheets, dollar store items, touristy items, cheap beauty products, jewelry, used postage, postcards, ATCs.
Most swappers are good people and here for the right reasons. I will not look for reasons to down-rate and can be very understanding when things do not go as planned. I presume positive intent and give the benefit of doubt whenever possible. Communicating solves a world of problems - if you mess up on a swap, just message me - chances are it will be fine. If I mess up, I will do everything I can to fix it to your satisfaction. "Be kinder than necessary." JM Barrie, author of Peter Pan.
