I am 54 years old, happily married to Gary, with 2 sons Ron 34 living in my town and Travis 44 married to Cathy and living in Indianapolis (Trav is a step) and 1 daughter, Christina 32 who is recently married the new baby's dad. I have 1 granddaughter Gracie Jade and 4 grandsons (Ty 9, Devon 8, Riley 7, Aden 3, and Gaige 5 mos! I love my toy poodle, Sofie. She was a rescue from Pets In Distress, my sister-in-law's organization in Florida. Poor Sofie lived the first two years of her life in a small outdoor cage with a few other dogs who were only there to bred. She was so covered in her own excrement that you couldn't hardly tell any of these babies were dogs. They looked more like rabid rats. Sofie already had three litters in just that short time. My SIL rescued her, cleaned her up, got her well and used to people and a couple months later drove her up to NC to us. She is still very timid, doesn't bark or make hardly any noises but she is finally very snuggly with my husband and I. My last dog, a toy poodle (because of allergies needed one that doesn't shed), Petey. He was the love of our family's life and we had him for a little over 17 years. The saddest day of my life was losing him. If I could, I would take in as many rescue dogs that I could. They need us the most.
I love my family, my dog and our life together more than anything! I have a wonderful job that has afforded me travel about twice a year all over the world. I manage a lot of different projects and programs and this is what got me interested in the Planner Addicts group. PS My other grandson has arrived, February 8, 2014. Gaige Ryker Mahala,What a joy!

I love all types of music including country old and new, alternative, classical, all decades from the 40's to now. Favorite performers: Daughtry, Lady A, Katy Perry, Train, Led Zeppelin, Josh Groban, ELVIS, Eddie Arnold, Gary Allan, Imagine Dragons, Kings of Leon, etc. I guess I could go on and on because I love music! Oh and Adele! How can I miss her!

Nora Roberts, JD Robb, Karen Rose, Fern Michaels, Catherine Coulter, Dan Brown, Stephen King. I don't just read them, I own them! I like the feel of a book in my hands rather than on an electronic reader.

Not big fan of new movies but my retired husband is so we usually go to a movie 2-3 times a month. BUT, don't laugh at me, I absolutely LOVE those stupid SyFy movies on TV about natural disasters, giant sea creatures, bugs, dinosaurs, crocs, sharks (yes, I watched and loved Sharknado) etc. It is my escape when all I want to do is laugh.

I record my shows to speed through the commercials. Not that I don't enjoy commercials, I just don't have a lot of time. All the CSI's especially NCIS, Criminal Minds, Person of Interest, Blacklist, Elementary, Intelligence, Almost Human, Bones, Unforgettable, and my favorite Covert Affairs.

I do not like reality shows, though I enjoy some of the Discovery, National Geographic etc.except nothing with animals. I can't stand to see an animal hurt whether it's in the wild or just a movie.

I enjoy card-making, iris folding, journaling, scrapbooking, and photography and incorporating all of this into gifts for family and friends. I have a huge craft room and probably too many supplies. I have 3 sewing/embroidering machines and a serger that I haven't used in forever but want to. I am learning to quilt and would love to start creating barn quilts. I love swapping and always do extra because I like pleasing others and I have so many craft items that I would love to share with others. I am absolutely in love with all things Disney. My Mom loved Disney and as children and into adulthood, we went to Disney at least once a year ever since it opened October 1, 1971. I passed my love of Walt Disney and all he has accomplished in his life to my children. And now my children are passing that enthusiasm on to their children. It's a family affair as all my siblings and their children/grandchildren love DisneyWorld and Walt Disney. My dream one day is to go to DisneyLand and from there the international Disney parks.

I love to travel and have been lucky enough to be able to. Growing up my family did a lot of camping in the US. We would meet family from other states during the summer. We always did Disney World, either camping or hotel. My husband and I also like to travel to Las Vegas, Atlantic City and the Bahamas to gamble now and then. Now, my job affords me travel. Part of my job is to host travel tours for alumni and friends of the university and have gone to many beautiful places that I never thought I would have a chance to do. I have been to France, Italy, Monaco, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji Islands, Spain, Austria, Germany and will head to Scotland and the Orkney Islands in April 2014.

I absolutely love the ocean, though I now live in the mountains which seem so far away. I love the different shades of the green and blues of the water. I love diving for lobster and stone crab, I love fishing at the Hump and trolling in the Atlantic Ocean. We do not have our house in the Florida Keys anymore, but dream of going back if we ever get the chance. The mountains of North Carolina are beautiful but you have to pick and choose where to find color, where the Keys and South Florida have colors everywhere. I miss the sun on my face.

I am on the computer a lot with my job. I don't know what happened before email because it sure seems I spend all day at work on it either answering or writing. I enjoy Pinterest, I really love to learn about mine and my families ancestry, I love to see what is going on in my family and friends life on Facebook. I am also on Twitter. Both of these were started because I had to for my work. We had to be able to change with our students and alumni at Appalachian. I have an Ipad for work that I am hardly on, but an Asus Transformer (android) that sometimes is my right hand. I also use a Samsung 4 smartphone. I think this is one reason why I really enjoy my alone time with my crafts. I don't have to be on electronic devices unless I want to! With all the electronics and my electronic calendar, I still use a planner. The size is 5x7 and change planners all the time. I prefer to create my own by visiting an office supply store rather than buy one specifically for planning. I use it for everything because there are many times you just have to write it down. I have tried some other planners and have assorted papers I really don't use anymore. If the swap arises, I will give these things away!
