I am not swapping for the time being while I get things in order in my life.
I am a happy owner of a startup business called Blackwidow Stitchworks. Our mission is to change the way you think about handmade.
I enjoy crafting and teaching crafts to everyone but especially adults with developmental disabilities. Making beaded jewelry and purses are my current favorites. I live alone in a great neighborhood with my a Min Pin named Danni, a Huskey mix named Waker and two cats - a mostly white male that I call White Cat (his given name is Angel - which he is definitely NOT) and a black short-hair kitten named Smudge.
I am allergic to Cinnamon, animal dander (all of them but my own, and even them sometimes!!), nickel and bromide and have Non-Celiac Gluten Sensitivity. :-)
SciFi and Fantasy - Anne McCaffery, Mercedes Lackey, Kim Harrison, Roger Zelazny, etc.
Action and Mystery - J.D. Robb, Janet Evanovich
Pagan and nature-related
Cookbooks - I love the kind where people collect favorite recipes for fundraisers, potlucks, handwritten cookbooks.
Crafts and How-to books - especially dying, painting or embellishing fabric; working with wire; making glass/stained glass; simple wood projects; traditional cultural crafts (like in Pieceworks magazine), art quilting.
Wow, I'll try to limit this to the top 20... ;-)
fabric painting, fabric dying, beading, printed fabric, hand-dyed fabric, batik, crochet, spinning, costuming, medieval fiber arts, mini art quilts, beaded jewelry, machine embroidery, nature crafts, repurposed denim crafts, pagan-related crafts, simple crafts for adults with disabilities, kitchen witchery, lacemaking, home decor, simple wood projects, macabre and more
Interested in learning: Gibbous fashions, Steampunk, lampwork, metalworking (for beads), sewing with leather, knitting cables and lace, digitizing machine embroidery, and more.
CSI (all of them), NCIS (both), Bones, Big Bang Theory, Extreme Home Makeover, Sleepy Hollow, Grimm, X-Files and Under the Dome, among others.
Any re-runs of: the old Star Trek, X-Files, Charmed, Dr. Who
Witches/pagan, nature, dogs (esp. boxers and MinPins), cats, animals of all kinds, cooking, fabric and sewing stuff; coffee and tea; motorcycles; leather; rainbow colored things (gay/lesbian themes); rocks; driftwood; middle eastern dance (belly dancing) themes; beads (especially gemstones, glass and bone); herbs; music of ALL kinds (yes, really!); celtic, medieval, fairie, goth/victorian and asian themes; camping; mushroom hunting. I like bright colors rather than pastels but I like to play with colors and fabric embellishment is my passion. I am also a "foodie" so anything relating to food or cooking is great too and I collect cookbooks.
Rude or disrespectful behavior, any kind of abuse, and people who tell me I can't do something. :D
