Favorite Crafts

Scrapbooking, Christmas Ornaments, Book Marks, Polymer Clay Molds

Favorite Music

Classical, Inspirational, Christian

Favorite Books

I love to read almost anything! I have a large collection of children's books that grows weekly. I also love cookbooks and scrapbooking books. I'm a fan of Oprah's Book club too!

P.S. I'm a literacy specialist so I can use all sorts of things related to reading & writing. I especially like things for my office and wearable publicity for literacy (t-shirts, pins, etc.)

About Me

My family is the most important thing to me. My husband is a cowboy and a firefighter/paramedic. He is also a fabulous campfire or grill cook and loves Civil War/Confederate books. We have one daughter, Emma, who starts second grade this fall. She loves glitter, pink, bling, Littlest Pet Shop toys, and girly things. I always appreciate nice things for my family.

Favorite Foods

I love candy! (but no sugar-free stuff--I'm allergic to aspertame, phenylanine, etc.) Chocolate is definitely this girl's best friend, especially if it has caramel too. I love to make cupcakes and decorate cakes! (I also like anything related to cupcakes or chocolate, like things decorated with them.) I love chicken recipes and mexican food too, especially salsa.

Favorite Things

PINK-

roses (especially the delicate pink ones)-

Cookie Cutters and baking things-

Cake Decorating Books-

blue and white combination-

funky aprons, or feminine ones-

quality black or red teas (especially fruity ones)

demitasse tea cups-

tea pots-

rhinestones and other glittery stuff-

lavender--the scent and the flower (A swap partner once sent an olive oil & lavender soap by Olivia that is divine, if you can find it)

fuzzy socks, especially if you make them but I love storebought too (but no wool, please)-

SLEEP and related things (soft music, eye mask, lavender pillow spray, etc.)-

Handmade things, especially sewing crafts-

unusual or interesting things from your area-

Things I Don't Like

Sugar-free (allergies to aspertame, phynllanine, nutrasweet and such),
Green and Herbal Teas,
Coconut,
dark-spirited things (like goblins, swearing, gothic, etc.),
unicorns,
cheap junk (and I'll send nice packages too)
no sends

One-on-One Swaps

I love to do one-on-one swaps! See the following lists but I take suggestions too--let's keep our mailboxes full to the brim.

Things I'd love to have:
-prima flowers (any size, any color)
-quality teas (black, red, and white--but no herbal or green)
-things with my name on them (Merica) -embellishments for scrapbooking (brads, eyelets, riboon, buttons, dimensional stickers, etc.)
-lavendar scented soap, bath salts, essential oil, etc.
-girly things for my 7-year-old -used Gymboree clothing for girl, sizes 7 or 8
-fall or christmas chunky book

Things I can send you: -strawberry or chocolate pocky
-handmade bookmarks or book thongs
-variety of teas
-6x6 recipe cards
-swap cards with your image
-Arkansas, USA items
-quality used baby girl clothes, up to size 6
-variety of scrapbooking papers, embellishments, etc. from my stash

Home Decor

My kitchen is decorated in vintage fruit. The colors are muted, somewhat faded. I love kitchen things--dishcloths, cookie cutters, gadgets, small framed art, etc. I also enjoy vintage prints of all kinds.

My bedroom is very traditional in cherry wood with blue and white linens and accessories. I especially love blue toile prints or white pillowcases with some type of trim like lace or embroidery.

My daughter's room is light pink and purple with Disney Princesses. She loves things with her name on them.

The rest of my house is hodge-podge, basic khaki. I appreciate that it is a place to relax and so I love cozy throw blankets, candles, and things that make it feel homey. Oh, I love to decorate for Christmas and Easter.

Comment: Hello Merica, Thank you for the two recipes you sent me for the "E and F Recipe" Swap. Both sound interesting and ones I would like to try. So, they will go on my lists of recipes I want to try during 2008. Your recipe cards will have a place in my A-Z recipe collection and will proudly be put into my special A-Z Recipe Book once I begin working on that down the road. I look forward to future swaps together, both here and out in the bigger Swap-bot world. Until we meet again, Happy Swapping! I hope that you had a wonderful Holiday Season and that your 2008 is filled with all the best. Barb sleepingrover2010 P.S. Sorry I am so slow in rating this swap, but I was gone for 6weeks and returned right before Christmas. Before I knew it, it was 2008. Please know that I received your recipe.

Comment: Wow! I was SOO excited about this swap and you made it even better by sending early! Thank you a million times for this fabulous box of lavender treats! And you read my mind sending so much soap - you have no idea how important this is to me!! I only use natural soaps due to sensitive skin and was praying I'd get lots of it! ^_^ I love the body spray and tea too - this was a star package! Dozens of hearts for this - not just one!

Comment: Thank you for the crossword puzzle book and small skein of yarn. The package met swap requirements (which were rather vague), but I was disappointed to receive such a skimpy package in a swap for 25+ hearts. Definitely did not meet my expectations.
Response: The yarn was a high-end skein of bamboo yarn. There were few clues in this person's profile so I went with what was there--knitting and crosswords. The requirements were small but thoughtful.

Received my package for our one-on-one swap and I am very delighted with the details of items you included. My son loves the books and I love the teas, cancelled stamps, and the shamrocks, and all the other items-it would take too much time to list them all! Wonderful trade-thanks!!!
