Between spending way too much time online, I manage to fit in my many other loves - gardening, reading, photography, traveling, antiquing, hiking, and connecting with friends, not to mention my dear hub & two daughters, both now college-aged.
My tastes run the gamut - from Portuguese ceramics to vintage fruit crate labels and original watercolors, from El Dia de los Muertos shrines to redwork samplers and bright green depression glass ... eclectic is my only theme.
I do LOVE to cook - vegetarian dishes that appeal to all are my favorites to make, along with simple desserts, especially cookies and cobblers. A tried-and-true meatless recipe of yours tucked into any swap would really make my day!
Maybe because I'm in the kitchen alot, I especially love original, kitschy embroidery transfers and embroidered items like aprons and dishtowels. Vintage is best, though new interpretations are fun, too - Jenny Hart is my hero!
My favorite color is green - any soft shade, especially when combined with all my other favorites, like creamy white, pale rosey pink, buttery yellow, earthy browns or dusty purple. I also love daffodils, freshwater pearls, and the colors of autumn ... pretty much anything that's based in nature works for me.
James Taylor, Beatles, Eric Clapton, Jackson Browne and the like (yep, I'm old!) I also love classic jazz, including newer artists like John Pizzarelli and Dianne Reeves.
This one is hard! The first few favorites that come to mind (in no particular order) are ... De-Lovely, Mostly Martha, Everything is Illuminated, Out of Africa, Night on Earth, Moonstruck, and A Charlie Brown Christmas. I also love documentaries, like My Architect, 32 Short Films about Glenn Gould, and The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill.
Don't make time for tv ... the more I watch it, the less I want to.
Knitting is my therapy - I almost always have several small projects, usually baby booties or hats, cast on and stashed in my car and various other likely spots, ready to pick up and add a few rounds to in spare moments. I also love beading and embroidery, and really want to spend more time on prim applique quilting, getting my photos into albums (is that the same thing as scrapbooking? :^) and improving my sewing skills ... a couple more lifetimes should do it!
