I AM TAKING A BREAK FROM SWAP-BOT DUE TO HEALTH ISSUES.
Even after years of social networking and online profiles, I’m still not used to writing about myself. It’s taken me a while to fill in this profile and I will periodically add to it as needed. This isn’t a complete portrait of me. All I can say is that I am a very eclectic person. Some people see me as complicated. I see myself as boundless. I see myself as organized chaos. I embrace my insanity.
Greetings All! My name is Veronique. I’m 31 years old, pansexual/bigender, an eclectic pagan, born and raised in NYC. I attended Pace University; majored in English (Lit & Culture) and Women’s & Gender Studies with a minor in sociology. I recently received a complimentary minor certificate in Queer Studies for my work with the campus gsa.
A BIT ABOUT ME - LOVES & LIKES I’m turning 32 in January, but feel about half my age. I love rock climbing (bouldering, top-roping, sport climbing). / I love hiking and backpacking. I work at the biggest, year-around costume shop in NYC, Halloween Adventure. / I’m also a fitness instructor. I love exercise and sports! I love rollerblading. / I’ve done a few 5K races and mud runs, but have to be careful because of my knees. / I love books, cafes, museums, puzzles, video games, writing, art, poetry, world religions, music, concerts, operas, ballets, movies/foreign films, coloring, laying in cat piles, spontaneous adventures.
I’m very open-minded and will try almost anything once.
I’ve go-go danced for local metal bands around NYC and NJ.
I have rheumatoid arthritis which felt like a death sentence when I was diagnosed with it a few years ago. My doctors/specialists weren’t positive or encouraging. I had toxic reactions to the meds that they were shoving down my throat. The constant pain made me feel as if my life was at a standstill. Movement is freedom. Not being able to dance, exercise or compete made me feel as useless and dead. Things improved once I took a more active role in my health. I switched to natural supplements and now my condition is mainly managed by my diet and exercise. I now call RA my “warning bellâ€. It creates more self-awareness and reminds me to consistently nurture my mind and body. Dancing, teaching fitness classes, rockclimbing. I can do it all. I love reading articles about people who have RA or other mobility/joint issues who are living life to the fullest. Please share any articles that you may find.
