Classical, Jazz, 50's, 60's, folk, some country music, blues. I like music that tells a story, that makes you smile, that makes you want to dance, that can relax you and music that can make your spirit soar.
Craft books, old fashioned murder mysteries - good old Agatha Christie, Dorothy Sayers, Ellis Peters etc, love P.G. Wodehouse, Spike Milligan, cook books - especially vintage ones, anythng by E Nesbit, Wind In The Willows of course, Douglas Adams, Old horror stories - from late 1800's early 1900's. I also read loads of Spiritual, Occult and self help books.
Cant get past Casablanca as a favorite, love All About Eve, An American in Paris - in fact love old Musicals. The Philadelphia Story, Arsenic and Old Lace - in fact practically anything with Cary Grant. Star Wars series (original ones that is), Indiana Jones series was fun.Johnny English movies were funny.
Frasier, Death in Paradise, Big Bang Theory, Murdoch Mysteries, Masterchef, watch cooking and design shows shows, QI, Would I Lie to You?, Shaun Micallef Mad as Hell, Sienfeld, Red Dwarf, Father Ted. Also old series like Dad's Army, 'Allo 'Allo, Yes Minister, The Good Life. Also Kolchak - the Night Stalker - recently been watching DVD's of this old series that I loved when I was younger.
mixed media collage, cross stitch, art journals, jewellery making, actually I'll try anything. Love making ATC, hand made postcards, cards. stamping, match box and mini altars. Just read Mixed Media Doll Making by Linda and Opie O'Brien - fabulous book - I cant wait to try to make a mixed media doll.
I have very eclectic tastes - I prefer hand made or vintage to new, There is no colour I particularly dislike (the only styles i dislike are Art Deco - though I do like some deco jewellery and I love Ertè. Dont like the decor of the 60's & 70's - though I like the ceramics of this period - but NOT the furniture and fabrics) - I love to try new ideas. I try to recycle as much as possible - old cereal boxes become magazine holders, used envelopes are collected and turned into journals, old milk containers become seedling trays, watering cans, plant pots - I hate throwing anything away. The down side to this is I do have a house that is cluttered with stuff that I have intended to upcycle but haven't got around to yet. I love art of many different types - not so keen on Damien Hirst and the like - dead animals on the wall are not my cup of tea (though I do like the cardboard stag heads you can get now). Love Abstracts, Surrealism, impressionists, outsider art. I love the arts and carfts movement - William Morris, De Morgan etc
I have diabetes so no sugary stuff please, love tea but if you are sending to Australia I think you can only send tea bags that are sealed in foil.
