Hello! IΓ’β¬β’m from Ireland and I'm a psychology student. I love writing (especially flash fiction) and I love being out and about in nature. I'm a science, comic book, DIY nerd. I make bags and badges and little doodads to entertain myeslf.
For busy people, here's the short version of my profile:
I like: zines, animals, buttons
I don't like: wizards, vampires, meat
Pretty much anything on K Records, The B-52's, Liars, The Microphones, Battles, Marnie Stren, Health, Zu, Electrelane, Sonic Youth, Themselves, Shangri-las...
McSweeneys, Donald Barthelme, Miranda July, Jeffrey Eugenides, Sebastian Barry, David Sedaris, Jonathan Safran Foer, Amy Hempel, Judy Budnitz...
I'm a comic book nerd (I love King Cat, Chris Ware, Sara Varon, David Heatley, Lynda Barry...) and I LOVE Zines: anything hand drawn from the heart (I don't mind crooked lines or smudges or things not looking like they're supposed to).
Veggie Recipe books...
I looooove getting book recommendations
Anything with James Stewart. Anything with Roberto Benigni. Anything by Jim Jarmusch.
The Fisher King, Amelie, Science of Sleep, Old Joy, Buffalo 66, Funny Haha, Lost In Translation...
The Wire, Peep Show, This American Life, The (American) Office, any David Attenborough...
I love, love, love buttons - especially pre-used, pre-loved, wonky buttons (Are they called buttons outside Ireland? Ye know, the things you close your shirt with?)
Felt - all colours!
Old photos or slides of people I don't know.
Random stuff you might find at the bottom of a drawer - old keys, feathers, old coins, well worn shells...
Mustard, burnt orange, red - anything autumnal makes me happy. I'm not a fan of neon.
I love 'em all: monkeys, rats, snails, bugs, dogs, donkeys... Any you can think of...
I have a habit of taking in strays, so I'm particularly fond of old, scruffy, funny-looking animals (but they're all good)
I'm vegetarian, but mostly I eat vegan food. I love any kind of chocolate and I'm fascinated by any candy from outside Ireland (not jellies though, they're usually not veggie).
Twilight and Harry Potter - I know, I'm on my own with that - but I just don't get them.
Meat - I'm veggie, in a veggie household, so it's wasted on us.
Glitter - you find it everywhere, for weeks.
Religious stuff - I respect it, but I live in Ireland - we've got plenty of that here!
