About Me

After living in Georgia for most of the last decade, we moved to a small town in Illinois to be closer to family and friends. I've been married to my best friend for almost 13 years and I get to be a stay at home mom for our 3 year old daughter. We also have two big kitties that are over ten years old.

When I have free time I like to check out all of the local goodwills for bargains and goodies I don't need but have to buy anyway because it's such a great deal. Sometimes they end up back in our goodwill donations a couple months later and sometimes not. My favorite things to shop for are white ceramic kitchen items and all types of kitchen gadgets.

Favorite Music

I enjoy most kinds of music and talk radio. Can't get enough NPR or live acoustical music. Sit me in front of anyone with a guitar and I am a happy girl!

Favorite Books

Cookbooks. I do a lot of menu planning to make my week smoother. I used to enjoy crime/true crime novels, but not alot of time for reading for pleasure lately.

Favorite Movies

Oh gosh, favorite movies....well, pretty much anything from the 80s. These movies I could watch or listen to every day. The Goonies, Stand By Me, When Harry Met Sally, Field of Dreams, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Top Gun, Titanic, You've Got Mail, Fried Green Tomoatoes, With Honors, and Dead Poets Society.

Favorite Television

I enjoy watching Modern Family, How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory, and Grey's Anatomy. Reality shows are my least favorite. I haven't intentionally watched more than a few minutes of any of them.

Favorite Crafts

I don't do alot of crafting yet, but recently built myself a little craft nook (6.5 x 7 feet) in the basement. Now I just need some projects to work on. I like to make little note cards and treat holders. Would someday like to learn how to quilt or maybe knit or crochet, once I figure out what the difference is.

Other Favorites

Some other random things I like: birds, owls, butterflies, dragonflies, ladybugs; baseball, fishing and shooting pool; white kitchen ceramics and kitchen gadgets; all types chocolate, sour candy, and teas/coffees, the colors pink, red, purple and blue; \unusual items from other states/countries, meeting new people, and dancing

Tea/Coffee/Hot Chocolate

I love all coffees, including decaf and fruity teas are my favorite, but I'm willing to try your favorites as well!

Comment: Oh my stars, Stephanie--this was an amazing swap from you! You spoiled me...everything was perfect and I loved it all. I truly cannot pick a favorite--the pendant is the easy choice, but the tea bag 'holder' was amazing, the little notes on everything, the wonderful letter (I did put it down/stop reading to unwind the ball!), just simply everything. Comment: What a fantastic package -- and such a nice note!!! I don't know about being a supermom, but I do know that enjoying your kids is one of the most important things you can do. (The other one is loving your husband!!!) So thank you for everything, especially the socks. It does get chilly where we are, as we are almost a mile high, and we have tile floors -- great to clean, but cool on the toes! Thanks again, and happy swapping!

Comment: What a nice package I received from you today! The Godiva & Dove chocolate both look delicious, and the "pull ribbon up" card holder was very cool, as was the "bird screen door saver." While I don't have a screen door, I am going to use it as a refrigerator magnet, and I may use the 2nd bird as a decorate on a handmade card. I also enjoyed reading your note.
