I'm a stay at home, homeschooling, crafting, and cooking mom of three (though two are my gifts as step-kids) and grandmom to two (though I'm still in my late 30s!) I love to read when I have time, and tend to watch very little tv. There's too much in the world to do away from the tube! I live with my hubby, our 12 yo, my mother, our four dogs, and a guinea pig named Harley. Please - no adult content or off-color insinuations. My kid enjoys seeing what I get in a swap, so keep that in mind. We follow the "junk in/junk out" rule... we are what we see/hear/read. We'd like to keep it clean. Thank you!!
Crochet, crewel, scrapbooking, papercrafts, sewing, and altering all sorts of things. I'm currently learning to knit, and I am hoping to learn to spin in the near future.
Most times I have Christian rock going, though I love me some Beatles and southern rock! ;) I'm very eclectic... jazz, classical, and traditional Irish music tops the list as well.
Historical fiction is definitely my favorite. The more truth to it the better. Suspense novels are great too, as long as they aren't too heavy or spooky. I love Ted Dekker but can't read Stephen King... oh the nightmares...
The Ghost and Mrs. Muir; Arsenic and Old Lace; any Hitchcock flick; a good comedy with Hope and Crosby. I tend to like black and white flicks. However, a good movie is a good movie whether new or old!
I don't watch a lot of tv, but we do love Doctor Who around here! I tend to stray away from reality shows (though Amazing Race rocks!) I'm not a fan of soap operas or talk shows unless you're talking about a news-type talk show. We love watching old tv shows such as Get Smart and The Honeymooners, as well as kitschy sci fi shows like Quantum Leap and Sliders. Out of modern tv... the Canadian comedy Corner Gas is our all time favorite!
I'm a crunchy Christian vegan married to a good ol' Jewish boy (now a believer.) We like all types of things and all types of people. :) Family is paramount, responsibility is tops, and creativity is always encouraged. We walk the path that God gave us, not the one that is politically correct. I'm trying to live by Proverbs 31 always striving to be better tomorrow than I was today, and stumbling a bit along the way.
I'm a red junkie. Lately I've especially loved red paired with brown. I love patterns with fun colors - especially anything "jewel tone." Black and white photographs are my all time favorite over color any day. I love finding new color combinations, so even if it doesn't match what I've listed above chances are good that I'll like it! (I'm just not a big rainbow fan for what it's worth.;)
I love postcards - actually, my daughter tends to add them to her collection most times! I love seeing interesting views of where you live or where you've visited. Flowers, recipes, animals, scenic views, cityscapes are all good. I love postcards of villages and even local colleges, but only if it isn't the traditional stadium shot. Quirky or classic - either is fine with me. It's the thought that counts!
