It would be great to receive an email from you when you receive my swap - I like to make sure that you are receiving your goodies. Also, I appreciate ratings. Thanks!
I have been a huge fan of collage and altered art throughout many years, (I am a young 50-year old currently in Virginia)! What a great way to recycle, to be inventive, and to repurpose found items. To find bits and pieces for my art work, I love thrift store shopping, going to estate sales, flea markets, antique stores, and antique shows, here at home and when I go on vacation. I also attend a lot of the art festivals in our region, to meet and talk with the many creative people who are excited about their work. That is my greatest source of inspiration....admiring the work of others!
There is so much music that I like and it usually depends on the mood I want to create. Classic rock and roll, the 50s, jazz, grunge, classical, reggae...it is all wonderful to me.
I am going through a stage right now and I have been purchasing old films, such as Andy Hardy, Bob Hope, Jimmy Stewart, etc. On the weekends, I get up early in the morning, while my husband is still fast asleep, pop one of these oldies in the DVD player and drink my coffee...
I am also going through a nostalgic mood with TV shows and I purchase DVDs of TV programs from years back. Dick Van Dyke, Lucy, Andy Griffith, Ozzie & Harriet, Bonanza...my husband cracks up. Unbelievably we do not have cable or satellite TV. Our family and friends do not understand how we can exist without it...ha-ha-ha.
Mostly collage, altered art, decoupage, and made a few pieces of jewelry using old or vintage jewelry parts. I want to learn how to solder so I can make little charms, etc., like what I have seen in Pretty Little Things by Sally Jean Alexander.
My muse: anything Somerset Studios & Legacy, Collage Discovery Workshop by Claudine Hellmuth, Designing with Photos by Allison Tyler Jones and Donna Smylie, Souvenirs de Fleurs by Louise Kollenbaum, Nick Bantock's books, Artchix Studio, other creative people, books, magazines, the outdoors and nature.
Favored colors: gold, silver, bronze, rust, black, antique white, sepia, burnt orange, various shades of brown, and muted colors.
