Pin-Up Series #4 - Gil Elvgren

Great idea! Gil Elvgren is one of my favorite artists. Every single one of the pin ups he created are sexy, beautiful, and gorgeous without being vulgar. He knows exactly how to make these girls sexy without crossing that "porn" border. What kind of pin up tattoo do you want? I have one on my right thigh. It was one of the most painful I had but I put her there because I had a 4th knee surgery that left a very big scar. I love wearing skirts so it was quite visible most of the time. I didn't really mind because I think every scar I have is like another entry in my life journal. However, people loved to point it out, stare at it, and even touch it. (There are also two metal screws inside that you can feel when you run your hand over it). Here's a photo of it right before I got my staples taken out here

I wanted to get a symbol is beauty (which to me is an old-fashioned pin up girl. I named her "Bettie Sue" -actually my tattoo artist named her hehe- and she took a little over 4 hours to get done. My most painful one, but so well worth it! It won 2nd place in New York City's tattoo contest for Best Color Piece. Here's a photo : Bettie Sue

I also got the words "Always Stay True" just as a reminder to myself to always stay true to what I think is beautiful, not other people's versions of beauty. Please make sure to post photos of yours!
