Description:

Thank you to @ninou for pointing us to the tutorial for these adorable fabric house ornaments! This one is #7 in our popular Nuts for Sewing Cute Linen House swap series. I love these little houses!

We will all follow this tutorial to make one fabric house ornament for our partners:

Fabric House Ornament Tutorial

  • For this swap, we will use CHRISTMAS COLORS (red, green, white/cream, and silver/gold) and patterns for a traditional Christmas look. These will be beautiful to display in your home or on your tree for Christmas each year.

  • For the main body of the house, please keep the linen look (as in the pattern) by using linen, linen blend, or Osnaburg fabric.

  • You may keep the little bird (as in the pattern) or replace it with another design. I received one with beautiful flowers from a partner. Something Christmas-related would be a beautiful addition this month! As long as there is something in that space, we will leave that up to your creative whim.

  • Please post in the comments below if you have preferences regarding secular or religious Christmas patterns. If you like a winter theme/color scheme better than a Christmas one, please check out our winter version of this swap. :-)

  • While our skill levels are all different, please do your best to follow the tutorial, choose cute fabrics, and do good quality work.

  • Using scraps from previous projects is fine, but please use only good quality ones with nice patterns; this isn't the time to destash your ugly fabrics! ;-)

  • There is lots of time to try out the pattern before partners are assigned to make sure it's a project you're comfortable with. This is not a profile-specific swap, so you can get started on it at any time.

  • Be sure to include the swap name and your Swap-bot name in the package for ease in rating.

  • Sending on time is considered part of the swap requirements. In the rare circumstance that you must send a little late, please contact your partner and the swap coordinator before the deadline has passed.

Participant Requirements
This swap is for those with a minimum of 10 completed/rated Type 3 (package/craft) swaps that include a significant crafting portion. Prior to assigning partners, I will check last log-in date, current swaps (to make sure there aren't any overdue), and ratings (no unexplained/unresolved 1s or 3s). Please PM me with any questions or concerns.

Happy sewing!!!
