Description:

Hello green thumb, this swap is for you!

Spring is coming! Soon people will be planting new things in their gardens and flowerpots. It would be nice to surprise someone with seed bags. Maybe you can surprise even yourself by growing something new in in your garden or windowsills.

In this swap you will have one partner and you pick two (2) seed bags for him/her.

Seed bags should be store-bought and have planting instructions written on them. If your seed bag doesn't have instructions in English, please translate the basic information (planting time, blossoming time, harvest time, how to plant, does the plant need pruning or support, how big the plant is... etc.) in English.

Seeds should be from some edible plant, for example herb, vegetable, root, etc.

Try to pick your seeds so that your partner is able to grow them in his/hers climate without too much trouble. (Don't send desert or rainforest plant seeds to northern countries, and vice versa. Thanks. ;) ) If you want to be sure, pick something which can be raised in a flowerpot and indoors..

Please, let your partner know what kind of place you have for your plants (vegetagle garden, balcony, windowsill... ) and if you prefer some kind of seeds. Most easiest way is to write a comment below. :) But this swap is a senders choice, so don't be too picky and be ready for nice surprises.

This swap is open for everybody with rating above 4.9. Newbies with well filled profiles are welcome to join. I will ban everybody with unexplained 1 or 3 in the past 6 months.

Happy swapping!

Additional info:

Some swappers from other continents have contacted me and asked why this is not an international one. Well, there are lots of restrictions at international posts considering seed and plant mailing. It is for example against the post restrictions to send seeds from Europe to USA and from continental Europe to Great Britain and Ireland.

Countries customs will check oversea mails and they will pick out the forbidden seedbags from envelopes if they notice them. This causes inconveniences to oversea swapings and lots of bad mood to swappers.

If somebody want's to set up regional swaps in other countries and continents, feel free to do so. :)

hey, my mum loves interesting pumpkins(not regular ones) and tomatoes. but any interesting plants are fine by us - we have a greenhouse, balcony and a garden.

@mishap : I am glad you liked the idea of this swap! Drop a link here if it is not too hard. :)

I'd like to try some roots or vegetables and herbs. Climate over here (Finland) is a bit hostile so i prefer something that grows fairly fast or can be grown in a greenhouse. :)

This swap starts soon! :) Hopefully we get more participants before this swap begins, and I hope that those who are now watching will to join us too.

It is also nice to see some familiar swappers in the participants list! I think that I will host one more of these seed swaps before summer.
