Description:

I don't know about you, but I have been saving items from swaps that I have no use for. I use them for future swaps or penpaling. But my stash is getting quite large and I'd like to eliminate some of the items. This is similar to a white elephant swap with the addition of a profile surprise! :)

For this swap, you will have one partner and you will fill a #5 bubble mailer (approx. 10.25inches by 15.25 inches I believe) with items that you no longer want or plan to use. I have at least two of the bubble mailers and have found them at Dollar Tree and Walmart, so they seem to be easy to find.

This is sender's choice, but check your partner's profile for dislikes (for example, please don't send religious items to someone who isn't into religion and conversely don't send something with a pentagram to someone who states they are Christian - obvious stuff like that & check for any allergies your partner may have). But also part of the swap I would like for you to send a profile surprise worth $4 to your partner.

Number of items: At least 12 items, NOT including the profile surprise

If you don't have enough unwanted items to fill the mailer or at least 12 items, you are more than welcome to include items that you think your partner will like. But if you don't feel comfortable with doing that than this probably isn't the right swap for you.

Please don't send anything that would break during shipping. Please try to pack your items well if they would have the chance of bending or breaking. Please don't shove your items into the mailer. Please don't send broken, torn, dirty, ripped, used items. If you're sending items that could melt or leak during shipping please tape the opening up and put into a plastic baggie so it doesn't ruin/melt/leak onto other items in the mailer.

The purpose of this swap is that someone else may enjoy something you didn't like. If you don't like some of the items you receive this time, you can send them along for another swap.

Examples of items to send, but really anything that swap-bot allows can be sent:

Paper ephemera (even if you're sending several items in this category it will only count as ONE item)

Stickers, loose or sheets (even if you're sending several it will only count as ONE item)

Scrapbook paper (even if you're sending several it will only count as ONE item)

Handmade items that are well made (even if you're sending several it will only count as ONE item)

I could keep listing, but I hope you get the idea. If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions about anything please message me.

This is open to USA swappers only. No newbies allowed since most likely a newbie won't have unwanted swap items. No recent 1s or 3s (last 6 months). I will be looking at profiles carefully before assigning partners. If your profile is not well-filled out, then I have a right to ban you. Since there is a small profile surprise involved a well-filled out profile is necessary.

Remember to include your swapbot user name and the name of the swap, as well as a personal note to your swap partner. Also, please mark items or make a note on the note to your partner what you've sent along for the profile surprise. Thanks!

If your partner followed the rules above, please rate a 5. If you received something(s) that really made you happy rating with a heart is always appreciated! :)

There are free FLAT RATE padded envelopes available at the PO but the size is only 9-1/2" x 12-1/2". Would this be acceptable?

Lila84 08/31/2013 #

@beenebag that's fine, as long as the stuff inside is protected. I'd prefer something that's bubble insulated to add more protection. But if you're still able to swap the minimum number of items and protect everything then it should be ok.

Thanks!!

You're welcome! :)

@lila84 the padded ones do have bubble wrap inside - the flat part only refers to the price, and @beenebag came to ask my same question. I'd have to think if I can join this. As it stands, it only looks like, I have eight of the 12.

@takehimaway Oh, ok, I've never seen the free flat rate padded envelopes. You're right, they must be padded if @beenebag said they were.. I don't know how I missed that. Sorry I'm just now getting to this. I'm not sure if you joined or not, as I'm about to check profiles.
