Description:

This swap is for one small deco book for one partner.

The deco book should be small enough to fit inside a typical envelope (no bigger than about 5.5" x 4.5") and not be super thick or heavily embellished. It may cost more than a stamp to mail, but should still be on the small side. You may need to make a new deco book for this requirement if everything you have on hand is too large. Note that you are not required to mail this in a standard envelope, but it should be possible.

Some guidelines:
* Homers ARE allowed.
* Please send no more than one deco unless you've checked with your partner prior to sending.
* The person the deco is for (who it will return to) should be clearly noted somewhere on the deco.
* Don't send your partner a deco they've already had, or one for them.
* You can't always control the quality of decos you receive to pass on, but if you are starting a new one please make it reasonably sturdy and nice.
* Theme is sender's choice.
* Newbies are allowed with filled out profiles.

I believe no one should host swaps they aren't willing to angel themselves. I will angel if necessary, but I screen participants very carefully to minimize the risk of flakers getting in. I will remove participants with poor ratings, late swaps, drama, nasty comments, or other swapping history that concerns me at my discretion. If you have any negative swapping history and want to participate, please proactively PM me to explain. Otherwise, I may ban you with no notice if I am suspicious. And I tend to be suspicious.

Because of delivery issues, multi-profiler/flaker concerns, and site policies I require real names. If you join a swap of mine with a fake name or no last name, you will be asked to fix it.

This swap is U.S. only on account of postage costs. If you want an international version, feel free to host your own. :)

According to the Swap-Bot Glossary: A deco is similar to a friendship book and there are a wide variety of types. It is a bound book of pages which are sent around the world. The person that the book is “for” is usually listed on the cover and when the book becomes full it is sent back to them. Each person that receives and signs the deco will decorate one page according to the theme of the booklet (if there is one) and put their postal/email address and sign their name. Typically, each entrant in the “deco” must use one full page to express themselves. Glitter, sequins, feathers and other scrapbooking supplies are frequently used in “decos.” Despite the artistic expressions used in these types of friendship books, the basic rules of passing the friendship book to person to person is the same.

If you are new to decos, I can try and explain them better. I suggest PMing or commenting on my profile to get my attention faster, I forget to check swap page comments as often as I should!

Swappers in good standing: let me know if you want some excess decos... I normally have a few I can send out.

Stahlrala 06/20/2017 #

HelloZombie would love excess i can always use them

kweandee 06/24/2017 #

And since you responded to Amy's offer to take the excess with some nasty shit about her decos being ugly and how no one should send her books, etc. I am dropping from this swap. That was uncalled for, not sure what's wrong with you lately but you could decline someone's offer without having to go out of your way to make them feel like trash. Nice going :(

Hey @kweandee that makes sense you would drop this swap after the things you've been saying about me. I appreciate that you''re defending your friend, but here is what I sent to @stahlrala in response to her request for more excess decos. Note that I've never said they were ugly or that no one should send her books.

"Hey Amy,

I'm not really comfortable sending you excess decos at this time. I see you posting frequently here and on Facebook about wanting excess. I've also seen your work in decos and other swaps, both what I've received in deco swaps and pictures. You appear to put in minimal effort into your swaps with a "quantity over quality" approach. At this time I don't feel right about sending you more decos when I think you should spend more time and effort on fewer swaps.

Thanks, Emma"

That's still not cool to say. I am new here but just reading the comments and to be honest, Emma, no one is paying for decos so its not like she's messing up your money. You don't know her or her background or the challenges she faces so for you to deny her like that is cold hearted and insensitive. You could have found a better way to handle it. People like you are whats wrong in this world, absolutely no compassion for anyone you don't deem to be as good as you at something. How about offering to teach or help her instead? I'm dropping this swap too. Good luck Stahlrala, I will swap with ya if you want.
