Description:

This is a collaboration postcard and swap. It is similar to our regular Pass and Paste postcards (as it will have rounds), but in this series.......all artists will work on one side of the postcard forming one large collaboration of art. These are some of my favorite mail art postcards.
You can start in at any time. For your first round, you will start a postcard. To begin a postcard, address the backside of the postcard to yourself. Divide the writing portion into 3 or 4 sections, for collaborating artists to write their notes, swap info, user names, etc.
On the front side, the person starting the postcard will add some Art as a base...can be collage, mixed media, painting, whatever. Each following round, the next artist will add 2 or 3 elements, and then pass it on to the next artist for the next round. On occasion you may get a partner whose card you are working on.....Do not send the artist who started the postcard their own card to work on. If this happens to you, simply start a new card, and hold that one till the next round, or you can always send it to me. When all artists have completed the sections on the back, it is ready to be sent home to the original starter.
If you send a card home to the original artist, you may need to start a new postcard to send to your partner.
The postcards can be any size. They will be mailed in an envelope between artists, until the maximum number of artists/spaces is reached, and then it will be mailed Naked back to the original starter of the postcard. The person sending the postcard home will add the postage. The end result is a collaboration piece of art from 3-4 artists. No stickers please.

If you have any questions, just ask.

I would love to see these when they are finished......if you can, please post a picture in our forum. Please remember to put your user names and the swap name on each postcard you send out.

Have fun.

My first time participating in this - checking my understanding please. When I receive a postcard with the final section left for me to complete, I send it to the original artist AND I send a new one to the partner I am assigned in that round, is that correct? Just want to make sure I do it correctly - thank you.

And, is it possible that the postcard I start never finds it way back to me, if the person who receives it after me doesn't participate in the next swap?

Again, it's all fine, I just want to understand what I will be doing. Thanks :)

Still waiting for an answer - I am very confused. I am new so I am supposed to start my own new postcard. And, I have received a postcard from someone which is also new (meaning, she started it and I added on to it).

Do I send both mine and hers to the person I send to? If so, why did I not get two postcards to work on?

I tried to send a message to you @wolfeagle but the system gave me an error message. I will try again.....

Can anyone weigh in?

Thanks all!

You only have to send the card you've started for yourself to your swappartner for this swap. The card you've received from your partner for this swap you keep untill the next round of this swap. So in the next round of the collaboration swap you send that card to your partner with your added work on it.

When I get a postcard with only one slot left, do I just complete it and send it to the owner on my own (not for a swap)? I can't see any other way to return it to the owner because getting paired with that specific person in the next round seems unlikely... Let me know if I understand that correctly. Thanks in advance. :)

Yes, Iowa, that's a homer. You just send it home. You either need to start a new one for that swap or use one you already had from a previous swap.
