Type:None

Date items must be sent by:February 28, 2009
Number of swap partners:1
Description:

This swap is inspired by one of the forum tags called something like, "Make Me an ATC in my Favorite Theme." ATCs are great, but I think there's only so much you can do with a background the size of a trading card.

For this swap, you will send one partner one collage you made yourself. The dimensions of the collage have to be at least 4 by 6 inches, but it can be bigger. It should be on cardstock, cardboard or some other sturdy backing.

Here's the fun part: everyone who signs up posts a list of things under the comments section based on the 10 categories that I've listed below. You may list 1, 2, or 3 things per category, but not more than 3! The person who sends to you has to incorporate a minimum of 5 things that you listed from your whole list in the collage they make for you. They can include other things that they want, but at least 5 things from your list must be in it. Here is the list of categories:

  1. A color.
  2. An animal, plant/flower, or anything found in nature.
  3. A man-made object.
  4. A food or drink.
  5. A person (i.e. a baby, a ballet dancer, a knight in armor… no specific people though like Brad Pitt… please reserve these for category #8), a part of the body (i.e. eyes…leg…etc.), or an organ in the body (i.e. heart).
  6. A particular time of day (i.e. afternoon, sunset), season, or holiday.
  7. This one's a little different: a feeling or idea that you want the collage to convey (i.e. love, happiness, independence, change, luck, quiet, chaos, etc. … Do not actually have the word on the collage unless your partner says it's okay!)
  8. Something you like… anything that doesn’t fit in the categories above. I.e. theme/motif, actor/actress, band/musician, movie, book, character, tv show, place or city, etc. Please specify what your item(s) is if it may not be well known or obvious to others.
  9. A technique you'd like your partner to use in your collage (i.e. drawing, painting, rubber stamping, fabric/sewing, embellishing with beads, whatever you can think of!).
  10. Last item(s) can be anything you choose :)

Swap requirements:

You send your partner one collage you made yourself, size 4 x 6 inches or larger and including 5 or more items from their whole list. (So if your partner lists 3 colors that would count as 3 of the 5 things.) It should be on cardstock, cardboard or some other sturdy backing. Collage should be the main technique used, but other art techniques and media are allowed. Please send it inside a note card or greeting card to protect it from getting bent. If you are attaching larger 3D objects or if your collage is bigger than 4" x 6", you should send it in a bubble mailer or a larger plain envelope with cardboard. Optional: include a note telling your partner about your experience creating the collage and/or which things from their list you chose. Please rate your partner when you receive your collage!

Participant requirements:

This is international. No newbies, please. 4.9 rating or higher and no no-sends in the past 3 months! I've made my requirements somewhat strict so that the chances of people flaking will be very slim to none. I will not be able to angel this swap due to the amount of time and effort each collage deserves.

Lastly, this is supposed to be a challenge. Including 5 things from your partner's list is the minimum… see if you can do more!

Have fun and if you have a question, please PM me. The comments section below is for people's lists. Thanks!
