This is it--We've made it to the end of the year! I will be taking a break from hosting these, but I have really enjoyed finding out what different people think and feel about different kinds of books. So thanks to everyone who has participated and shared a little bit of their reading personalities :) This is a Bring-Your-Own-Book Club, where folks can have a chance to connect with each other by sharing about whatever book they feel like talking about at the moment. It's meant to be as easy and accessible as possible, since we try to make everyone feel welcome at the library. I may provide some suggested conversation topics, but they are totally optional. -- Participants should feel free to write a little bit about one book (no spoilers please), regardless of whether you finished it recently or a while ago, or whether you're still working your way through it--or even one that you aren't enjoying that much, or have been putting off! And since I think of Swap-bot as a place for making connections and learning about others, I would also encourage participants to introduce themselves a little bit at the beginning of their email--or, if you already know your partners, share a little update or fun tidbit about what you've been up to lately. (OPTIONAL) suggested topics you might use or ignore:π Favorite or lesser-known international author/boo that you recommend? π A new book on your wishlist, or one that you would give as a gift? π December 21 is the Winter Solstice in the northern hemisphere and the Summer Solstice in the southern hemisphere. What book(s) would you recommend to help us keep warm or cool? π a book of any kind that you would recommend (or NOT recommend) TL;DR - SWAP RECAP:π International, electronic swap - by (bcc) email or swap-bot direct message π You will have up to 3 partners (or fewer, depending on number of participants signed up). π Introduce yourself--this can be very brief, as little or as much as you'd like to share! (If this isn't your first BYOB "meeting," a quick sentence on what you've been up to is fine). π Write at least a few sentences about one book--you can respond to one of the suggested prompts or not--it's up to you. π Include swap name and username π Don't forget to rate your partners :). If you received an on-time email/message that talks about a book, please give a 5. Questions? Suggestions? Please feel free to DM me.Thank you and Happy Reading ! |
