Booktober - Fall Reading Challenge

Let's read!! 📖

For the month of October choose one seasonally themed book (fiction, short story collection, graphic novel) to read. Anything Fall/Halloween goes. You can pick a cozy harvest romance, a slasher story à la Stephen King, maybe a Dark Academia classic—be creative....dystopian, gothic, supernatural, pumpkin spice or noir. Pick a book to read that suits your autumnal aesthetic.

There are so many different kinds of books that could fit this reading challenge: Fantasy, YA, Vampire Romance (Twilight, Sookie Stackhouse, Anne Rice), Classic Literature (Frankenstein, Wuthering Heights, "Leaves" of Grass), the Goosebumps Series, Haunted House or Ghost Stories (Shirley Jackson), Folklore and Fairy Tales, Magic (Harry Potter), Tolkien, Horror, Psychological Thriller (Riley Sager), Dark Academia, Movie Novelizations, stories set on a farm or in the county. Google it. The options are endless. If it feels like a book that will complement your 2024 Fall season, go for it!

You will have most of October to read the book you have selected. You will be paired with one swapper who you will send a message through swapbot about your reading experience. This is a Type 1 Electronic Swap.

Questions to answer about your book:

1. Why did you choose your book? How does/did it help you celebrate the Fall/Halloween season?

2. General impression of the book: Was it good, bad, so-so? (There is no penalty for not finishing the book, but your opinion about some aspect of the book is required.)

3. If you hosted a Halloween costume party, which character from your book would you invite or not invite?

I will do my best to make this a safe swap. I will exclude anyone who I have reason to believe may not contribute. I will check ratings and profiles (no recent 1s or 3s allowed, a filled out profile is required). Anyone who has been identified in a questionable swapper list on the forums will not be invited to participate.
